jtallen83
The suit looks like a great idea but....what I hear from relatives returning home from Afghanistan we need more work on the basics like air support and fire support before we send our money off into sci-fi land. The support they received was great, problem was it was seldom available exactly when they needed it and that cost lives.

greenmist
TALOS is a collaborative effort involving 56 corporations, 16 government agencies, 13 universities, and 10 national laboratories. This is pork barrel spending at it's worst, bureaucracy at it's thickest best, and fubard in the end of it all as their comms will still be based on 1993 leftovers. The "suit" looks like what we wear for entries now, except with a Krylon FDE overcoat. BTW, WTF are these guys doing at the Chicago Auto Show? Libertarian623
They did mention the TALOS suit a little bit but the majority of the article was about the new SOF and SOCOMS role change as the war spins down. Sounds like SOCOM is clearly planning ahead which is a good thing because in the senate budget meetings no one else is. It would be nice for once for SOF (operational capabilities) to remain intact after a war rather than being disassembled and shelved as they have been in the past. This would save us time and lives in the next war. Also there are current unclassified studies done with real soldiers about the TALOS suit out on the internet right now, and I won't spoil the ending for U.
