planeflyer21 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 My student who had the plague of the issue-laden Hogan is finding himself soon to be divorced and is moving to New Jersey. ACR is verbotten. Any ideas what he could trade for that is legal in NJ? He may just put it up for sale too.
planeflyer21 Posted March 5, 2014 Author Report Posted March 5, 2014 Yup…came to that conclusion already. Maybe a nice Garand and a copy of Gran Torino. Dude has quite a bit of ammo plus the rifle.
unforgiven Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 This guy is in the area, resonable too: http://www.garandguy.com/store/en/
planeflyer21 Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Posted March 6, 2014 Cool, Rene! I'll pass that along. Bet his business is doing well there in NJ.
unforgiven Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 You know brother he has good reviews and decent prices. If I was gonna another,I might look at his rifles.I got the historic in my CMP.I'll take one with new parts.
98Z5V Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Jon, have your buddy dig DEEP into the NJ laws first - their stuff is weird. Well, just as weird as CA-CT-MA-MD-CO-NY anyway. NJ has some unique stuff. Direct the guy to look at the NJ Hometown forum on ARFCOM. Not kidding. Good info there.
shibiwan Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Just read the laws and gave it some thought........ I think AR pistols may be legal by definition in NJ law if you can get it below 50oz unloaded. So... think of ways... poly upper/lower plus 8" barrel and CF handguard? Off the shelf AR pistols that may fit this bill: Olympic Arms OA98 - 49 oz (love the skeletonized look) Extar (New Frontier) EXP-556 - 48 oz http://www.extarguns.com/ Edited March 6, 2014 by shibiwan
