98Z that looks like a blast! how many acres or miles does the sand dunes have?

Camera is SWEET ! how for is the nearest ER in case I wanna ride? :) Wash

The place is Imperial Sand Dunes Rec Area - ISDRA.  Better known as Glamis Sand Dunes.  It's about 45 miles from north to south, 6 miles wide, and something like 118,000 square acres of area.  Most of it is closed because of tree-huggers and environmentalists, but there's still a ton of legal riding area.  Much more than you can see in one weekend, that's for sure.

I get "this video is private"

Should be able to see it since I linked it here.  It's an unlisted video so people can't search and hit it, but the link should get you to it.  I'll check the settings on it again.  <thumbsup>

I can run for a couple hours.  Doesn't last nearly as long as a full tank on the 4-stroke bikes.  On longer rides, I have to carry a quart-sized Gatorade bottle in my pack, filled with pre-mix.  That extra quart gets me about even with a full tank on the 4-strokes.

EDIT - Plus, I'm an idiot...  If guys are sitting at the bottom or on top, watching all the Shenanigans, I'm running the hill and being part of the Shenanigans...

You need any help with those Banshees, just let me know.  I've been known to work on those in the past...  <thumbsup>

There's some great stuff to ride along the OR coast.  That's a different kind of riding than down here - that's WET sand!  :))

I know a few places up there still that can help you out, if I can't.  Banshees are damn near a cult following, brother.  Moreso than my 250R.   That 500 just has to SCREAM, man...

I took it out in the front yard a few years back in the snow and it bucked me off right quick as it sits they need a full neglect overhaul ;( I'm a wood worker but have some knowledge I'm pushing forward for a trip to the dunes but age is an issue these beasts have become week in the hoses and have leaked vital fluid! My priority this year is to get out of the hole and then start again where I left off! You have some amazing dunes! Ill hit you up on your knowledge when the time is right! Feel freeto keep pushing the ride on me it makes my stance more perstant and might grant atleast me to break the cycle! Thanks bro!

In some of that stuff, you can get over 50.  Most "rapid blasts" are up to 40.  There are times that you'll be beyond that, but it's not common.  Those flats, in 5th flat-out are some of those times.  I can rarely get the thing to hold in the powerband in 6th, unless it's a long, flat section.  That's on the 2-stroke.

The 4-strokes, you can jam those bastards up into 5th and just pin it on straights, and it'll keep pulling and pulling.  Some 4-strokes will hold 4th on the hill, but many need to downshift to 3rd.  Those YFZ-450s will do it.

One of these trips, I'll get up to China Wall again, and get some vids from up there - that damn thing is SO steep...

$hit, brother - last year at Thanksgiving...  That was the 10th year in a row for me and DNP to celebrate T-day together out there in the sand.  We won't stop anytime soon...  <thumbsup>

He's been going out there since he was 3, or something.  DNP is a true Desert Rat, man!  :hethan:
