Just got my new DPMS BCG from Rainier Arms and while I was checking it out the firing pin retaining pin just fell right out. None of my other AR's do this but they are all 5.56. Im going to call Rainier Arms to see what they have to say but is this something I should be worried about? IMO this could be kinda dangerous right? Should I just try and spread the ears out some? Thanks guys.

When I first got my DPMS, it took a bit of a push to remove the retaining pin. 200 rounds later, it just falls out with gravity. But yeah, the receiver will keep it in place, no worries. Just make sure you're not standing over a sewer grate when you clean your rifle.

Just remember when you spread it apart , do it a very little at a time , just enough to make it snug . The tip that you spread has to go through to the other side , so it will expand once it gets through one side of the retaining pin hole , then it has to penetrate into the far side of the hole in the carrier .

If you get it too wide , they are very difficult to close back down . I use a pocket knife  blade , its wedged shaped & thin taper , just don't cut yourself.
