Ksgunguy Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Hi All, I have a Vortex PST 6-24x50 FFP on my current 308 AR and want to also attach a Red dot scope on the side. need some recommendations on how to attach it. thanks in advance
blue109 Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 few companies make platforms that attach like a scope ring to your scope tube. some rings offer a top cap with a railed section. you can get a 45 offset rail section, or if your handguard allows it you can mount a rail section at 45 near the from of the rcvr.
Ksgunguy Posted August 16, 2014 Author Report Posted August 16, 2014 any links on mounts I could use?
blue109 Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) surfing on my phone, kinda a pain. GG&G make the scope mount and a 45 mount. Midwest Ind. and yhm both make 45 mounts as well off the top of my head. I have a PRI freefloat tube and mounted a factory rail section at 45 for my little dot sight. seems to work well. you can see it right at the front of the scope. Edited August 16, 2014 by blue109
shepp Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Yet to use it but this is how I got mine set up fast fire II with MWI 45* mount
survivalshop Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Five pages of different type of mounting . http://www.brownells.com/optics-mounting/rings-mounts-amp-bases/index.htm?k=red%20dot%20sight%20mounts
