I measured all the Nolser 155 match bullets that were not loaded , count was 199 so I have shot or waiting to be shot 51 so far , here are the size groups , because most the difference isn't much , I don't think most won't make a difference in shorter range shooting . Thing is , I am anal about loading & think every round I load should be good for a 1000 yards . I know I most likely will not shoot that far with them , but I load them as I would . All the COL , even with the large differences in bullet OAL will most likely not make a difference in the ranges I will shoot them . 1.158 "- 1.161" = 29 1.155" - 1.157" = 21 1.150" - 1.154" = 131 1.148" = 17 1.146 = 1 I took a fine flat file & laid it on my bench & took a 1.161" bullet & it only took a few light short swipes on it with the tip of the bullet to get to 1.153" , so I think its may just be burr's on the meplat . My plan is to test these in a couple of ways, once I tune the charge wt. , some with out any care about which bullet OAL is loaded & some in just the OAL range they fall into . The 1.148" lengths are just going in the 1.150-1.154 " length pile , because I'm not going to be that picky at the short range I will be shooting them ( 200 yards & under ) Another thing is , what is the Ogive & it may be more important the the Bullets OAL . I don't have a Bullet Comparator , so I'm not sure of them .

I take it as a compliment from him. <thumbsup>

I can see it not liking a brand of ammo , but these rifles are very tunable once they are broken in , which could be the key here . I would inspect the Ejector also , could be weak spring or it could be binding . I can say I haven't seen , in any rifle I have , them not eating anything I put in them . Now Magazines , thats a entirely different story .

24" Bull or HB , what a beast , eat your Wheatie's

That looks like a clamp on Gas Block , if it is , it may have where they drilled out the Gas Blocks gas port hole , where one of the clamp screws are . If so , you can turn it 180 deg.( clamp at the top of the Barrel ) to see where it lines up with the Barrels Gas port , to determine if you have to space it off the Gas Block off the Barrels shoulder . Its 98's trick with the set screw type , I have one on my 16" that has so large of a gap for the Clamp , there is no hole . This is a VLtor , but may be the same with others . Are you using enough lubricant , run it wet for break in . Your Extractor may be holding on to the empty case too long , too stiff of a spring or it has Burr's or is hanging up .

Since we are on this interesting subject , when I was in High school , well not in school , but at the age to be there , we had a friend & his mother was an alcoholic & would do anything for booze , she did some strange $hit , in front of us , someone brought some beer over & she was kinda nasty , but had all the hardware that boys of our age , wanted to see . she took a frozen Keilbasa sausage out & commenced to fuk her self with it in front of us , when it was nice & limp , she put it in a frying pan & said she was going to cook it for dinner for here POS husband . I asked her son then next day at school what they had for dinner ( no one else would ) & you got it , Keilbasa . <thumbsup> At least she cooked it . <lmao> The man of the house had a smoking hottie girl friend, so he didn't care what she did . I'm sure some of the guys were tapping that , even at my youg age , I just couldn't bring myself to even touch her . When her son was home & we were in the basement playing pool , she would come down & piss in the floor drain right in front of us , man ,he would get pissed & apologize .

Kind of makes you think of the 1800's , I'll bet you didn't see someone come into any place & just randomly shoot people , even in the Bars or a church !

Ya , give it the old sniff test ! <laughs>

Moderate PA-10 build,Looking for opinions/Suggestions/Knowledge
survivalshop replied to 308Corb's topic in Building a .308AR
There is a group buy for a single stage Modular Trigger from "MechArmor Defense Systems here in the , I think Coupon section . A very good trigger & can be had for around $115 to your door . If you are going to a Rifle stock , you will have to get a Rifle Receiver Extension ( Buffer Tube ), the AR 15 rifle Receiver Extension will work , a DPMS type ,308 specific Rifle Buffer & 308 rifle Spring , since you are set up for Carbine stock now . I just installed the Magpul MOE rifle stock on a Build . The AR 15 Extractor spring is too weak for the 308 & may work for a while , but will probable cause problems with an increase in round count through the rife . Looks like you have a Red/Green dot sight on there , not really a scope , it may co witness with the Iron sights , as said , you will not see the front sight with magnification . Red dot type sights are nice for the range you plan on shooting . If you go farther out , Magnification is really helpful . I you get a rear flip up /folding sight for your Upper Receiver Rail , it should co witness through the Red dot sight , nice if the Batt. go south if in the field . -
Appropriate response , we all know how the differences in the 308AR manufactures vary & I guess we shouldn't be surprised . I've got at least three AR 15 Uppers that need Dust Covers when I get that far . With the Strike Industries Covers , the DC can wait till the last order for Parts ,because of how they are installed , I like them , we will see how testing goes .

I guess that would depend on how you feel about it . Definitely unfriendly to me ! <laughs>

Thats a little less then he was talking about . <laughs>

They would still probably take a beating because they have to be the same Hammer /Trigger geometry as a STD FCG, but they may be more forgiving , only way to find out , is to try one . How is firing pin protrusion on the Bolt face . Also have you checked the Head space , 9MM still has to have proper HS .

Are there any Tennis courts in your area ? <lmao>

I only have one receiver set that is tight & that is when I put a flat top Tactical Machining Upper on my Oly. Preban & since it had A2 sights from the day I built it , can't compare it to the scope I put on . All my Receiver sets , no matter what Caliber or how they are made ,have a little play & they all soot good , better than me , thats for sure . <dontknow>
-
With a hole going through the Upper Receiver like that , I wonder what kind of gas blow by you could get with using a std out side latch <dontknow> I don't think it would be a problem with their Charging handle or they wouldn't sell it that way , at least I wouldn't think they would . I for one, will be waiting for your review <thumbsup>

I want to know who trained her with such a sophisticated device <laughs> One name comes up ! :ugone2far: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/clearwater/woman-busted-for-dildo-battering-786902

Nice job <thumbsup> If some are shy about tapping their new Receiver , Brownells sells Compression spring stock & it would be an easy thing to get some & just make a longer spring , sounds like 98's total spring size would be a fit . Spring stock come in 1' sections , so you can experiment with what size gives the proper tension on the Detent & its doesn't have to be much .
-
I guess I will have to take some measurements to see what size would be appropriate for the Lower receiver . What size is in that Matrix ? Now the biggest question , does it make a difference & I don't mean does it just mean it tightens up the Receivers . It would have to help the function , accuracy or service life of the rifle . Otherwise its just gimmick. <dontknow>

I think you mean the DemOcommies moving , are ruining it . I've always considered my self an American , no matter where I was born !

If he is handling registered firearms as a business , he is flirting with a visit from the BATFE ! Doesn't matter if its local or not . Of course he is just borrowing the Firearm for hunting & it just happens he paints it to conceal it better from game animals <thumbsup> <laughs>

I thought that was not only boring , but I find it just amazing someone gets to shoot 2000 rds. in a month ,in one caliber . I don't know this individual , but find him hard to believe . 350 K & he never changed a spring ?

Call Criterion & they will make a Barrel for you with out the threads for Muzzle devices , as will others . It will not be a true Bull Barrel because of the limit on Gas Block diameter . .936 " is the largest I have seen . I have a Krieger Criterion 20" HB from Fulton Arms with .936 " Gas Block . Has a custom PRI Brake , turned to the diameter of the Barrel .
