  1. Survival this one has got me worried....cleaned the heck out of it yesterday...got a lil rust/preservative on first cleaning...from then on it was black...scrubbed with hoppes cleaner and brush...black patches...then took it out back again just now and cleaned some more used mp7 bore cleaner/hoppes....black for several patches then cleaned up pretty much....checked the extension ...doesnt look like it was ever mounted or had a bolt in battery...the bore shines though...hmmmmm...never seen this Wash Guru thanks for checking yours! ill give them a shout
  2. I used a an ares 300 aac in a build a couple of weeks ago and the patch when run thru the new barrel looked nothing like this...oh crap its a cmv...so I have used this type of barrel forgot it was cmv Ha Wash
  3. I just got in a Aero Precision 308 barrel just for giggles its this :cut n paste This 16" mid length barrel is the perfect addition to your .308 build. Crafted to mil- spec standards from 4150 Crome Moly Vanadium"So like always I run a patch thru it before the install...daaamn the patch came out black and nasty...so out comes the Hoppes...geez its almost like it had lead fouling it was so nasty black...after running a brush thru it ....even worse...finally cleaned up...but my question is..is this normal on a cmv barrel? all of my barrels over the last years have never done this when new...but they were not cmv either.. is it the machining process on cmv? .clue me in please Wash
  4. Talk about a prick tease.....this is a good one! it wont pass into law though Wash hope im wrong!
  5. Sweet...ill go look for a set....most of mine have tapers and wont work with no depth allen heads....I did find a couple of square tips on my bench, but they were too small to work..I cut back on one till the taper fit the allen head, but it only got one out...then went to torx...that bad boy did the job thanks brother Wash
  6. Thats a good one! what bout IPT?.......I pooped today Wash
  7. Slugger fleabay has em...so does harbor china freight.....ive been using e-z outs since the 70's...if you have never used these...then you have never fuked up. .. Ha.....most all of my use was in plumbing/ hydraulic type situations ...where the e-z out is tapered and catches an old fitting on the inside wall....also left hand drill bits can back out an allenhead but I dont want a drill near my rifle..... Wash http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?LH_TopRatedSellers=1&_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=screw+extractors&_pgn=2&_skc=50&rt=nc do not get a tapered end cause it wont allow you to grab a small allen head not enough depth on the screw..
  8. Doc you guys are gettin hammered ...saw on the news the highway was shut down for hours! We are getting a much needed soaking up here Wash
  9. Plane awesome im heading over to them.....mine are to large looks like 98's might be the irwin hanson brand? these sets are 30 to 70 bucks...nah ill sacrifice a torx for a 1.99 in any size that I need....lol Wash
  10. Yep those look like lil e-z outs for 1/4 inch drive.....sweet.....mine are just a tad bigger so they wouldnt fit...I dunno what they are called exactly when the are that small? still an e-z out? Wash
  11. Wow Sisco...thats pretty ding dang kewl...ive only got squirrels to deal with Wash
  12. Bad... if faxon cant fix ya up try this http://aeroprecisionusa.com/308-18-cmv-rifle-barrel.html 250 bills but if you go to ebay and I hate ebay for gun stuff but look up atx armory...they have this barrel for 219....just got a 16" from atx thats an aero barrel for 179 Wash
  13. sometimes we strip out an allenhead cause they are mostly cheap china crap...and when the allen wrench boogers the head what to do? Well if you have the right e-z out no problem...but what if you dont have one? so a couple of nights ago i decided to replace a barrel on a 308 that has the apex rail.....well there are four allen heads that screw down to the barrel nut...i didnt use locktite and was careful not to over tighten, but two of the lil bastards wouldnt budge...heat ,vibration soaking in pb blaster didnt do squat.all of my e-z outs were not the right size...Hmmmm thought back to what my engine builder did one time at the race track on a boogered allen head. get a torx bit...thats the ticket...so here ya go tap it in and bam out they come ...daamn they were in tight...i think by them touching the barrel nut ...heat and crud locked em up Wash
  14. Thanks JT....im in Wash
  15. Wow... excellent insight..... Wash
  16. Inspector for sure...and their should be a disclosure on the home somewhere...ie the history and problems....meth lab ect....find out about insurance claims...that will tell you a lot also look up property tax records...liens...that will give you the previous owners and then you can look them up and find out their story Wash
  17. Thanks brothers.... well crap the doc called in sick...no appt today for final decision on surgery date....at least we caught it early... a lesson for all...get that psa blood test and finger job once a year....this saved my bacon....soooo this doc is a teaching instructor for the robotic machine to do the surgery...daaamn me and machines have a love hate relationship...what if it blows a hose and covers me in hydraulic fluid ....how will they know whats blood and whats hydraulic fluid?what happens if the motors fail? what bout a puter glitch? what bout if he sneezes or farts while he's at the controller?..... Wash
  18. Too late........somehow back in October of 1983 a lil voice in my head said "one day this could happen" I had to take it down.....couldnt stand to see me in drag....sorry ...off to the Doc....crap ! Wash
  19. In no particular order......pneumatic penis pump, slinky red dress, black pumps, lipstick, mascara, bra and panties, diapers, butt plug, a new name ( Joycelyn) if my upcoming operation fails Wash
  20. All seekins have the tension screw in the back.....not the front Wash
  21. Chase I used blue, but you can use purple or nothing at all... weight?...what weight?...I dont weigh my rifles...I did hear thru the grapevine that mine weighs 8lbs with optics...Ha Wash
  22. Chase here's a lil tip on the seekins...what I have done is tighten the tension allen screw which is on the end to where it makes the gas adjusting allen screw a tad hard to turn ....then when you adjust the gas screw it stays where you want it...I did put a drop of locktite on the gas screw....these are gonna slay dome deers in a few weeks....Im still able to turn the gas screw if needed....the locktite hasnt burned off after a couple of range session.... I think it was 8 turns from closed to wide open and i have them set at 4 turns in....gas port is .08260 using an orange sprinco spring and dpms car308 buffer....it shoots 168 match down to 150gr soft point hunting loads without fail Wash
  23. OUCH I didnt do it on purpose...it was a cut n paste from bravo's website... $hit I completely missed it ! Wash
  24. Handguard alone weighs 7.7oz! <<<<< who gives a crap? 1.3” Inner Diameter 1.5” OUTSIDE flat to flat. Handguard flares forward (towards muzzle end) at the 3 and 9 O'clock positions approximately 1/4" This rail will not fit your ar308.....just showing you that a seekins adj gas block will fit under the smallest diameter handguard ....the seekins should fit under anything you have Wash
