Why buy remanufactored ammo when you can buy the real thing? federal gold match 175 grain for 18.99 or this federal 168 otm http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/308-7-62/federal-gold-medal-match-308-168gr-sierra-matchking-bthp-20rd.html I only bought the privi cause it was like 11 bucks, and wanted to give it a try. federal gold medal is mostly all I shoot. I dont think anyone beats Palmetto State on the pricing for federal matchking ...someone please tell me why I would wanna buy reloads when I can buy factory fresh?...enlighten me please Wash

I just got in some privi match 175 yesterday...looks like I didnt read the fine print...its fmj unlike the 168 privi match which is otm....cant shoot fmj beyond a 100 yds at my range :( Wash

First Post/DPMS Build
washguy replied to Texsun's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Hi Texsun Welcome aboard! Get you a lower parts kit minus the trigger....then get you a dpms 308 bolt latch as they have more meat than the ar15 latch. the trigger is a very important part of the build...so get ya a decent one.Ive got a geisele ssa-e trigger and also have a bunch of rock river national match triggers which I like...these are all two stage triggers......I know other members will jump in with their favorite triggers. Do you wanna build up your upper or buy one already put together? My vote is to build one up. Get the same brand upper to match your lower...looks better and has a better resale value...and in some cases fits better. On both my builds I used rainier barrels...they are off the shelf so no waiting and dead on tack drivers that dont break the bank...I like 18" in black...but this also depends on what you are going to be doing with it. I like mid length gas systems and this is what the rainier 18" is. Now pick out a floated rail a gas block some optics...a butt stock...and oh dont forget the 308bcg which are scarce as hens teeth...you need a muzzle device too...lol and go kick your buddies azz <munch> Wash -
Hi Guys Why not get the real thing? these are nice folks ordered from them before...got some privi match 175 grain ordered for 11.49 a box just to check against the federal gold I have .you stuck on the 175 grain? or can you use the 168? Better pricing by a lil on the 168 ...yes i know this link takes you to the match 762 ammo but theres 308 also <thumbsup> Wash http://www.sgammo.com/product/federal/500-rd-case-762x51-federal-gold-medal-match-175gr-bthp-sierra-matchking-ammo

My vote is the 6.8 spc....ive got two of em,they are awesome! its a pricey load, but coming down below a buck a throw these days. after shootin one of these I always have a smile on my face ! This is galfriends 6.8...it now has a 6x18x40 scope instead of the red dot....she's good out to 300 shootin this lil guy <thumbsup> Wash -

Hey Boomer Yep that was a soaker! After a rain its a no go up there cause you dont go out there to put up your targets...the owner Terry does in his truck...the road gets muddy so he sez but I think it only takes a day to dry out. We only go to this place now that we found it early this summer. They are nice folks up there and there are no nit wits you have to contend with. I used to think 100 yards was far.... but being able to shoot 2,3,4, and even 500 yards will make you a better marksman...after shooting 300 yards a 100yd target is in your face <thumbsup> Wash
-
Hey Boomer Glad to see ya here! Since your in Frisco come on up to topguns where we shoot steel ...its not too far from you in Leonard Tx we are in big D <thumbsup> Wash
-
Hi Helotes welcome aboard from Big D ... 6.8s are fun...ive got two of them, but 308's are the real deal ! Wash
-
Hi Pdf I really do like the trx's ....ive got three...two on the 308's and one on a 6.8. They are light and easy to grip Regards Wash
-
Hiya 98Z5V I showed Char the pictures...and she said " Yes, 98z is right on the grip...but honey dont you remember? I was just posing for the camera, and you know how I fidget around before I get serious on the target?" and I said "yes dear"....and she said " and dont you remember how I banged the 6" steel plate at 500 yards on the first try of me ever shooting that far?"...and I said "yes dear" <lmao> Wash
-
Hey Soofley Same thing on the trx extreme ...you gotta go to the last step on the last bolt being tightened up until its rock solid...but back this summer trx had a bad batch that rotated even after everything was tightened up...hope thats not the case with the DD <thumbsup> Wash
-
Awesome! 6.8 is a great round and should be a tackdriver out of that barrel! congrats! Wash
-
Yes! we've been workin on that! <lmao> Wash

Hi Plane Mine sez on the side gps grip pod systems with a patent number on it...but i did get off fleebay...im thinkin its real so i got 3 more shortly after...like i said they are too tall for the benches where we shoot...but using the grip is solid as a fore grip...or prone <thumbsup> Wash
-
Hi Planeflyer! Congrats! ive got 4 grip pods for the two 6.8 s and two for the 308s they are okay for prone ,but too high for the benches where we shoot...i like them for freehand though so mostly they arnt on the rifles when we shoot steel <dontknow> Wash

washguy replied to KAC-SR-25-EMCARBINE's topic in Introductions
Hiya KAC-SR-25 Okay I agree those are nice weapons...but ill give you the same advice I always give to someone looking for a 7.62.....build it yourself! you can have it exactly the way you want it...plus the satisfaction of building it yourself...you will have a 100 bucks in the tools/fixtures...but you will have less in the rifle...like I always say...if you can chew gum and walk at the same time you can build one! <thumbsup> Wash -
Hiya Toby is an awesome looking shepard! Dadgum ... reminds me of my Ceasar who passed away back in the 80's... I bet Toby is one smart pup too! <thumbsup>Wash
