  2. Bama <laughs> Okay then.. go for the sass....the sass was moa ... I just couldnt tote it <laughs> Wash
  3. AWESOME!! Whew! <thumbsup> Wash
  4. Bama ...if you get this barrel dont buy the high priced dpms gas block thats 90 bucks......jse surplus has the one that fits for right around 20 bucks...thats where i got my sass barrel and gas block <thumbsup> Wash
  5. Hiya Bama Ive had one of these...couldnt get it off my build fast enough <laughs> yes its priced right.. yes its accurate...yes you will need a small crane to help lift it up to your shoulder <laughs> Are you in your mid 3o's? over 6'3" and go to the gym daily? if not....dont get this one <munch> Wash
  6. Hi Dustin The weapon shoots Dag.federal match, and winchester just fine...there was another person that had the blue box privi problem too..over at another site....sooo I tossed the remaining box in the trash.Btw im only using fgm now cause for a few bucks more i know im shooting the best without handloading...my take now is that if you have an expensive rifle and your shooting out to five hundred yards...just use the fgm and be happy! <thumbsup> Wash
  7. Hi Dustin Ive used privi on my 556's, but on my first 308 build i used privi in the blue/white box soft tip and about half the box blew out the primers...which of course freaked me out cause head spacing was perfect....went to other types of ammo and no problemos...have you had any blown primers with this stuff? Wash
  8. get you the mega...you will not be sorry <thumbsup>washguy
  9. So Fly.... did you put a single sst in and see if it locks back? Wash
  10. Me and my gal like the pri brakes....I know they work because of two things....she doesnt have recoil problems....and anyone on the left/right side give her dirty looks when she snaps one off...ive learned not to be on either side of our 308's on the line <laughs> Wash
  11. Way to go Drew! this is my homebase! <thumbsup> Wash
  12. Mega for sure <thumbsup> Wash
  13. Hi Again Heres a thought ..no matter what you are going to do,and ive run into this. The ar with matching upper/lower ( from same company) will have a greater resale than the one that doesnt have matching upper/lower. No matter how much money you have in it,and even if you use the best of the best....it will still be called a "Frankengun"...just sayin <munch> Wash
  14. Hiya Soofley! "i avoided the mega billet set because it didnt have forward assist(i dunno, for some reason i still find it wierd if theres no forward assist). " I know what you mean bout the forward assist...all six of my ar15's have it....when I researched this exact same thing on my 308 ar's... I read they arnt there for a reason...its the 308 /762 thingy.....if that big ol buffer/spring ,and big ol bcg wont slam home the shell into battery...you sure as heck dont wanna be forcing the situation with forward assist....this here 308 aint no 223 popgun cartridge....go to arfcom and read bout all the 308/762 cartridges lodged in the chambers ect ect....so you dont need no stinkin forward assist <laughs> Wash
  15. Hiya The craving ...I know it well.....the barrel extension along with the matching bolt ,the upper ,and then how the upper matches to the lower is the requirement.......oh heck...go get you a mega ma10 billet upper/lower set....then you can use either a true ar10 type barrel /bolt or a dpms style barrel/ bolt . ive got two of the mega's.. im partial to them ...but now I "see" I didnt answer the question correctly...you are wanting to know .308 to .762 cartridge compatibilty? without opening a can of worms...yeppers you can shoot either....I do Wash
  16. Before you find the rifle with the 24" you should start looking for a gun bearer to tote that boat anchor for you <munch> Wash sometimes short is better...dont form an opinon that long will get you more acccuracy....there is a nice article on barrel length.. http://www.tacticaloperations.com/SWATbarrel/
  17. Hiya Fly Have you tried putting one shell in mag.. firing and then seeing that the bcg locks back ? Start there...if it short strokes, and doesnt lock back...look for a gas problem first...get back with us ...also if its new or fairly new you gotta run em really wet ! Wash
  18. Hiya The acs for sure...ive got four of em <thumbsup> Wash
  19. Heres one of my sporting clay guns, that actually shot trap better..Browning 325 over/under 12 gauge...barrels back bored, forcing cones lengthend, custom extended chokes, ported, and a custom wenig stock hand rubbed/finished by me <thumbsup> Wash
  20. Hiya Me and my gal both use this one... PRI MSTN QC Brake .308 got it from Rainier arms for bout 80 bucks...it does the job all right....dont stand to the left of someone using this one...it will rock your world <laughs> but thats a good thing! Wash
  21. Hey Broom! Awesome piece!! <thumbsup> Wash
  22. Since its raining here..i got off my fat azz and weighed the rifles on a crappy digital scale...both guns scoped, both 18' barrels...no mags in them . the ar 15 6.8spc is 9.5 lbs and galfriends 308 18" rainier barrel{ the one in the picture } is 10.7 lbs <thumbsup> Wash
  23. Holy Crap! <munch> Wash
  24. Hiya DJ Thanks ! I didnt start with an off the shelf dpms....I built the rifle using a mega ma 10 upper lower...and then adding the dpms sass barrel which i then found out I also needed a gun bearer cause it was so heavy for galfriend and me too...soo I already had the tools....the dpms claw bout fort bucks from jse surplus and a dpms 308 wrench from them....then call Jeff Morgan at troy and tell him your serial number so they can send you the right height rail...theres 2 different upper heights from dpms get a low profile gas block.. jse again...find a nice muzzle break...pri works for me.... dont be afraid to change the workings....if you can chew gum and walk at the same time you wont have a problemo....if you cant do that...then we are here for ya to help you make the changes oopsie...you will need a work bench with a vice though <thumbsup> Wash
  25. Yeppers you can replace the barrel ....you need the proper barrel nut wrench and a lower reciever insert for the vice...dpms has a good one. you gotta get rid of that gas block and the fore thats on there and use a troy extreme or another light weight one to get the fat off that rifle! dont be gettin any bull barrel either....that select the ranier offers is awesome snag a 16" if you can....oh and wear some hearing protection too <munch> Wash heres the ranier in 18"
