Sighted in at 100 meters and again at 250. Cross wind at 11-15MPH coming from the right. Considering I didn't have a level and using American Eagle factory loads the 168's didn't do bad, she didn't even notice....

I couldn't remember the last number. Its the 6-24X50 Tactical. I really like the scope, great glass and a generous eye relief. The rifle previously had a Vortex that poped me in the scull twice.
-
Nice lookin gun. The PRS stock from Magpul has a good weight to it but no area to add more.
-
Party ay washguy's place! ...anyone got directions?
-
The only forgiving scopes I know of are red dots, like the Vortex Strike, but only 3x. I have a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6x24(?) FFP that has quite a long eye relief to it. Most manufactures have the eye relief length listed in the specifications.

I went with a Vortex scope 4X16X50 Illuminated MilDot and the rifle now functions flawlessly. I have Vortex on most of my bolt guns and should have bought it to begin with.

It,s going to be heavy when its done. Mine is uncomfortable to carry on my shoulder for an extended time.

In the chamber at the mouth, I will get some photos posted. Put a casing in the chamber and twist it to check for small burrs.
-
FWIW, I failed to check my SASS barrel for burrs and ended up disassembling everyting to correct it.

The sighting in did not go well. I live in a townhome and am weary of racking live rounds to test firearms, so I had not tried to prove the action. Long story short I get to my range and there is a burr the size of Texas in the mouth of the chamber. The rounds would jamb every time so I fed the rifle one at a time to break in the barrel. Then the scope reticle came loose and started rotating!!!! It was my own damn fault on both accounts, I should have inspected the chamber before assembly and gone with a good scope. I took everything apart, stoned the burr, polished the chamber, feed ramps, ejector, and bolt face. I also used some satin black Aluma-Hyde II on the gas tube, as it can be seen under the FFT. The rifle is put back together (w/ a proven action)and I hope to go out Tuesday and find some new glass. Nikon has the free mount offer until the 31st or I may go with a Vortex. I want an illuminated reticle for evening hunting but undecided on brands. Any suggestions?

What made you decide to move to the 308 AR/AR-10 Platform?
bgc replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Wash, It sounds like you have the illness, my condolences. -
I gotta put in my 2 cents here, Try the Aluma-Hyde II at Brownells. I have been using it on Mags, Uppers, Lowers, FFT's, Gas tubes, BCG's and anything else the customers want colored. It stands up to rough use and wear. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1117/Product/ALUMA_HYDE_reg__II

Does accurizing always mean reduced reliability?
bgc replied to Yoshi's topic in Accurizing the .308AR
I have not experienced any reduction in reliability due to modifications related to accuracy. The accuracy game is all about consistent repeatability, knowing exactly where that projectile is going to strike. In the AR family, I have built one A2 National Match set up and an A4 with a HBAR upper, w/ YHM FFT, and a 2lb. JP trigger and a LRT-308. -
DPMS SASS gas block...the expensive one....
-
This started as a Basic Lr-308 with an 18" BBL, A2 stock, slick side upper, and solid FFT. Added a new DPMS upper w/assist and dust cover, DPMS BCG, Vented FFT, Magpul PRS2, JP Adjustable Trigger, SASS barrel, Primary Weapons compensator, some PMAG's, PEPR mount, and a Stealth Tactical Illuminated 6X24X44 (BSA) scope.

Nice

Check Brownell's for Free Float Tube and Sinclair's for glass. Also Natchez if you know what scope you're looking for

The Milano is an over under made by Isidoro Rizzini in Italy. They were imported by Savage Arms for a couple years until all import right were sold to another company. The blue circles are choke tube cases. I hunt with my scatterguns and have a Wifey for home protection…. If someone wakes her up in the middle of the night, something’s gonna die…or be verbally belittled to the point they want to die… Just kidding shes not that bad

Found it. I was a Pelican good, call edgecrusher, and the inner case is a Harddig. http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail_mobile_military.php?Case=472-M16-2 I have the Eagle Tactical drag bag and pouches (Natchez on sale now) I will be taking some measurements on the rifle and gear to order a case. This epitomizes the ultimate in mall ninja rigs…now all I need is some katanas…and some black pajamas…a Tactical vest….

I plan on sighting in my LR-308 build this week and heading to southeastern/ southern Ohio for some boar hunting. The two years I have spent researching and scouting paid off this weekend in confirmation of hog in Wayne National. ;D. It's a 97 mile drive each way and almost an hour hike to get to the area. Could not have asked for a better day on Friday, sunny, mid 70's, 5-10 mph breeze. My plan is to start baiting the area each weekend and selectively hunt them, BACON (Meat candy)
