Bought two boxes of 50 for the 6.5Grendel . 130gr Tipped Game Kings... Shot nine different loads ,one from each ,brass looked good on all loads. This is an awesome looking projectile !

Did two cases !!! NOT a viable option ! The neck stretched too long. Couple of extra steps would be needed, chopping and trimming. Federal Fusion brass in 6.8spc has a primer pocket that takes small rifle primers but also has a crimp. Brass stretched to 1.720" , the neck was with in specs. Starline brass stretched to 1.696", neck was ok.

Just going to jump in ... New gun .... Lube , oil it big time , Dripping on the floor wet ! A Larger Armalite bolt catch might be a good upgrade. Pics of inside of the upper will help. That's a start.

Fixed the 6.8spc gun today , replace the buffer (to one that weighs 3.28 oz )and spring ( same 38 coils but ,538" longer)

Ran 100 rounds, 3 boxes of new 75gr Federal and 40 rounds of 1x with 75 & 80gr ELDM .

Sorted the rifle from pistol brass. I have to deprimed 6.8spc , 6.5G & 224V next. I am tempted to convert the Federal Fusion brass in 6.8 to 224V ... Just to see how good or bad it is. The process is just like the AK to Grendel conversion ! First fire form charge is light but after that normal.

Shot two rounds from my 'new" 2 year old 308 on Sunday and finally determined that the chamber is too tight. Had 78 rounds through it before Sunday. So I polished the chamber with Mother's mag & chrome polish today. Didn't have anything else to use. So the rounds drop in easier now. I will try again at the next outing 😊.

I have a H2 buffer in the parts bin . Also have 3 recoil Spring of unknown origin.

I shot 100 rounds today so the gun is close to being broke in (120 total) . Every few rounds a case would be captured in the ejection port while ejecting and the next round would load in the chamber. That is the issue.

Going to need a heavier recoil Spring for this gun ... Maybe a heavier buffer also. Must slow down the recoil pulse. Running a H3.

Don't know yet ??? Lighter flies faster but farther just not sure. 8 more grain of hate will hit harder.

Finally got to used this gun properly. Put a little over 100 rounds through it Sunday. Had issues with one bullet Sierra 120gr Spitzer which would not chamber. Ran factory Hornady Black 123gr and Handloaded Hornady 120ELDM & 129SST also Sierra 130TGK which ran great.

Sunday I was able to shoot the 6.5G loads, 3 of 4 projectiles were great. The shape of the 120gr Spritzers doesn't chamber well in the Grendel. Just above the neck of the case it hits the chamber wall. I only fired 2 of these bullets. The other 3 ran great and brass showed no signs of pressure. The converted 7.62x39 brass worked fantastic, it is a viable option ! Just load them light at the starting load charge for each powder, the cc volume is less than a standard Grendel case.

Shot a minimum of one round from each of my loads all were good , no FTF , no pressure signs ! The Hornady 80ELD-M is a go to projectile ... Nuff Said 😙 CFE223 is the powder 👍

Got the FedEx girl to burn up a bunch of old 6.8 spc ammo in a gun which hasn't been shot for over 5 years. She ran 3 boxes of Fusion ammo and a few boxes of reloads. The gun kept jamming , but she kept going, probably spring fatigue. She wanted to thank you guys for letting her shoot your guns !!!!
