  1. Immediately skeptical of anything with OPERATOR and TACTICAL in the name. Interested enough to poke around for some independent testing. Can't be any worse than RIP ammo lol
  2. I told him to save me one or two.
  3. Go to service/repair part of eotech website. When you select your model, a new option appears for returning your sight. Asks you what you paid. Print off the page and pencil in the RMA when they approve you
  4. Built an AR for another friend last weekend. I've been through about 1k rounds of wolf gold 223 with no issue so when he asked me about it I had no trouble recommending it for plinking ammo. He called me from the range with all sorts of feed problems. Wouldn't get through more than 5 rounds. Finally had the elusive round ABOVE the carrier jam and called it a day. Looking at his ammo and there is something very wrong with it. The bullet looked larger than anything I put it next to, including green tip, 75gr tap,and 77gr otm. Some of the cases even looked slightly larger, like they were swollen. Factory sealed boxes of wolf gold 55gr from ammunition depot. Everything in the gun looked ok, so he went back out with some federal 55gr and the gun ran like butter. Ammunition depot is swapping His remaining ammo out for some PMC so good customer service on them.
  5. Got my RMA. Approved for MSRP + $15 on my 512. Asked me not to send it in the box to save on shipping space. have the aimpoint mounted up and I'll zero this weekend. Refunds may take a while. Havnt read of anyone getting a check yet and some folks sent them out a month ago.
  6. Lol. I have a lmt and it's my favorite. Simple and functional. Locks up tight as any of the friction lock stocks. Havnt tried a B5 but most people say it's the exact same stock without the lmt tier 1 operator price tag. Both have the same mil contract. I like stuff simple. Only sopmods on my carbines and only A1s on my rifles.
  7. I have a nice EMOD (sold) and a nice clubfoot MOD stock. Both black milspec. Looking for a sopmod stock. Would go straight across MOD for B5 BRAVO...or EMOD for enhanced. Can add a little for LMT. sure we can work it out. Let me know if you have one. EMOD sold
  8. I know about the trans issue. Nissan does as well and won't fix it for whatever reason. Also affects the pathfinder, and probably the whole lineup of SUVs. the oil cooler is built into the radiator, and they can leak coolant into the trans which nukes it almost instantly. Really bad design, but easy fix with a bypass or an aftermarket cooler. My pathy is bypassed at the moment since its winter and I'm only driving back and forth to work.
  9. Please do. I've read about plenty of them going strong over 200k. That's what I'm looking for. Simple and stout.
  10. Wife hit a javolina and killed her little rav4. It had 260k on it and was still going strong. We liked it but those things are too Damn expensive to buy another and we need a replacement vehicle asap. I have about $5500 and don't want to finance anything. Been looking at xterras from 02/3/4. 2x and 4x. Generally between 100k and 130k miles.Any opinions? These look to be pretty reliable and that's my main concern. Just want something with room for the kids and stuff that I can take out camping or on trips, and still be a decent daily. Don't plan on modding it at all. Any major differences in reliability between 2/4x4? Any major reliability concerns outside of basic maintenence? Common failure points? Also willing to hear suggestions for a used suv in that price range. There seem to be a lot of Isuzu rodeos and cherokees for sale here as well in similar condition. I'd love a 4runner but anything with a Toyota badge is priced like it's made of solid gold around here. TIA.

  12. Maybe chapos guys will "I am sam" his ass with a bat to the head.
  13. Well, I did an elaborate series of horse trades but the bottom line was about $200 out of my pocket so I'm pretty happy with the deal. Thing must have been collecting dust for a long time because the batteries in the box expired in 2015. Still have nothing against eotech, but this thing is pretty sweet and as tough as it gets so I think I'm jumping ship if they send me an RMA. That cash can be used for some other upgrades
  14. Migratory chupacabra
  15. Magpul AR drop in handguards work on 308s so I'd think standard ones would work. Some folks need to trim the heat shields a little on the magpul, but they are a little more narrow than mil style handguard.
  16. In case you hadn't heard...Eotech is buying back sights at MSRP+shipping. An aimpoint comp M4 fell into my lap for an insane price a few days ago, and I have nothing to mount it on so I'm considering offing the eotech while the offing is good. hate to jump on the bbandwagon, but I can't pass up an upgrade. http://soldiersystems.net/2015/12/08/l3-communications-eotech-issuing-refunds-for-holographic-weapon-sights/
  17. Damn! That looks like a good time.
  18. lol. When I read it, my first though was why would you do that in the first place?
  19. Saw this on a local forum last night. Havnt had a chance to try it. Not sure if it's even a big issue, but worth mentioning. Can't really imagine a situation where I would be holding the trigger back without letting it reset so it may be a non issue unless it leads to doubling which I haven't heard of.

    308 buffer

The tube depth and buffer need to be matched. The longer 308 carrier needs to move a specific distance. Too far and it smacks the back of the lower. Too short and it won't cycle. DPMS uses a standard AR15 extension with a shorter buffer to account for the longer carrier. Heavybuffers is the best option to add weight, or add your own tungsten to your buffer. Armalite uses a longer extension with a standard AR15 carbine buffer to accomplish the same amount of movement. Those are the standards. The other brands and systems might work fine or might have you chasing bugs to get your gun running. Edit: ss said all that about a second before me lol. I'll add that a muzzle device will have WAY more affect of the perceived recoil than adding weight to the buffer.
  21. As long as we hold off registration...the answer is no. Don't care what the alphabet soup says.
  22. Lol...he's just stammering. Has no idea what he's talking about! That's awesome.
  23. Oh man that compilation was entertaining!
  24. Ringer. Used a BCM/spikes AR against a poop rommy erector set. Can we get an arsenal in this challenge? Devils advocate
  25. Shame. Shop always had eye candy on the wall, and they seemed nice. Headspaced my old 308 and torqued the barrel nut for free.
