  1. I actually use both Photoshop and Illustrator as they have their own strong points. Once the trial for Illustrator runs out download a free program called "Inkscape" it's a free program that does a lot of what Illustrator does. If your save your design in Illustrator to an "SVG" file Inkscape will pull it up and you can edit it in Inkscape. Illustrator is much better than Inkscape though.
  2. Since this has been revived here's my advice. Use a sentence as your password. Some passwords can have spaces and some can't. If there is no limit to the number of characters either use something like: This is a secure password. or Thisisasecurepassword. Both are EXTREMELY secure passwords and would take YEARS to decrypt. Even better would be to put in a number when possible. Anyway just my .02 worth.
  3. It may or may not do a good job. In Illustrator you have to "Live Trace" it to make it vector. The only problem is that if it's complex it may be difficult to do as it separates everything out into it's own shape. If there is more than one color each color has to be a separate layer/object. This would be an additional charge if you have them silk screened. Zazzle is most likely using one of two technologies. Now if it were designed in Illustrator that would be perfect for screen printing multiple colors. 1. SOJAR type material which is a material you print on using an Eco-solvent printer and then heat pressed onto the garment (it's a big sticker in reality that melts into the fabric. 2. Plastisol Transfers which are screen printed and then heat pressed onto the fabric. Now even thought I just posted the above screen printing can be done using another method which is to separate out the CMYK values and your screen printer may be able to do that with what you have. Here's a video of a print using CMYK Screen Printing:
  4. If it goes FedEx or UPS it does if you're shipping it. For example here are the Fedex Regs: FedEx Express will transport and deliver firearms as defined by the United States Gun Control Act of 1968, between areas served in the U.S., but only between: Licensed importers; licensed manufacturers; licensed dealers; licensed collectors; law enforcement agencies of the U.S. or any department or agency thereof; and law enforcement agencies of any state or any department, agency or political subdivisions thereof; or Where not prohibited by local, state and federal law, from individuals to licensed importers, licensed manufacturers or licensed dealers (and return of same). If your shipment contains firearms, select the Direct Signature Required or Adult Signature Required Delivery Signature Option, depending on the requirements of your shipment. See the Delivery Signature Options section for details. Firearms shipments are not eligible for signature release or indirect delivery. Firearms must be shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight service. FedEx Express cannot ship or deliver firearms C.O.D. Firearms shipments cannot be placed in a FedEx Express Drop Box. Upon presenting the package for shipment, the person tendering the shipment to FedEx Express is required to notify FedEx Express that the package contains a firearm. The outside of the package must not be marked, labeled or otherwise identify that the package contains a firearm. The shipper and recipient must be of legal age as identified by applicable law. The shipper and recipient are required to comply with all applicable government regulations and laws, including those pertaining to labeling. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives can provide assistance. FedEx Express will transport ammunition when packed and labeled in compliance with local, state and federal law, and the Dangerous Goods section of this Service Guide. Ammunition is an explosive and must be shipped separately as dangerous goods. You agree not to ship loaded firearms or firearms with ammunition in the same package.
  5. Are they silk screened. If so a few thoughts. T-shirts can be purchased commercially for anywhere from $1.50 to $$3.50 a piece depending on the brand or quality. I can give you the name of a couple of suppliers if you need it. If you have a silk screen business nearby you may want to check to see what they would charge to do this. You'll need a good vector graphic for them to make the screen. I think this would be a MUCH cheaper for you to purchase than Zazzle. I know my local guy has offered to let me purchase my own shirts and then it's .50 cents per pull per color once the screens are made. Not really something I want to get into though. Just a thought that might save you some money and make more money to put into the site. <thumbsup>
  6. Nope, From that mug I expected "WHEN YOU's DONE FOOLIN AROUND" JK <thumbsup>
  7. Absolutely correct. If he's shipping to himself he's allowed. Now if he's using a UPS Store the store owner is WRONG! :o Of course I know of PostNet stores that do this also. Sorry, I'm not risking my business for someone else by shipping a firearm illegally. <thumbsup>
  8. Not sure what their requirements are but I was under the impression that each firearm contains at least one part that the ATF considers a firearm. This part is typically the part that contains the serial number and that is the part that has to be shipped overnight (typically the lower receiver). I know I can ship parts such as barrels, slides, etc etc, all day long as long as it's not the lower receiver with the trigger group. Stores like mine are not allowed to ship firearms period. They have to be taken directly to a FedEx Facility or UPS facility (not a UPS Store) to be shipped.
  9. UPS and FedEx require overnight. USPS doesn't. <thumbsup> Of course UPS and FedEx have TRUE tracking though.
  10. Who did you ship it through? UPS FedEx US Postal
  11. Larue has a modifed PMAG: http://www.laruetactical.com/modified-magpul-pmag-762-nato-308-remington-10-round-magazine
  12. Don't get me started on Unions. Personally I'd never join one. Look at it this way though. They can hire more employees, granted at a lower rate, but they create more jobs and spread the wealth to more people that way Ask the Postal Service how Unions are working out for them. :o
  13. I don't own 1 gun that isn't either scratched or the bluing is wearing off from carrying it as a conceal carry gun. :) I know a lot of people who don't believe in popping a magazine in their pistol without pressing the mag release as they want to baby the gun. Sorry, it's a tool and if it's that precious I don't need it. Pop that magazine in and give it a swift tap to seat it.
  14. Personally I like the all black. A bigger question is how well will the wrap adhesive hold up to the heat? Will the adhesive be aggressive enough or will it soften when it gets warm?
  15. Sounds like you were at Rio Hato the same time I was. :)
  16. I've used them all and I currently have Microsoft Security Essentials on 7 computers at my business which see the internet quite a bit and 2 at home. I've been using it for several years and have only ever gotten 1 virus (yesterday). All the others I've used over the years either slowed my system down or just didn't do as good a job. Don't get me wrong none of them are perfect but MSE just seems to work so much better. Did I mention that it's FREE? <thumbsup>

  18. I'm out of breath now. There were only two periods in that entire post. <lmao>
  19. HaHa! That text was so small it looked like thin lines.
  20. For us old farts that need reading glasses. <lmao> Many people think that just because some factory makes a round in their caliber (say 308 or 7.62), it should function in any rifle. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a very wide range of internal ballistics on all this ammo and it is not realistic to expect that a self loader will function with any round out there. Weapons designed for military applications assume that they will use military grade ammo which will in fact fall into a relatively narrow range of specifications, both dimensionally and in terms of internal and external ballistics. So it follows that you can have a fixed gas system that will deliver a specified reliability requirement as long as you use the required ammunition. OOPS! you fixed it already.

  22. North Carolina’s new “Castle Doctrine” law, which addresses certain circumstances under which a person can legally shoot or use other deadly force against another, takes effect Thursday. North Carolina’s current Castle Doctrine only applies to homes, but under the new law it also applies to vehicles and places of work. The Castle Doctrine, rooted in English common law, expresses the belief that one should be safe from illegal intrusion in one’s home. The new law is much longer and clarifies when deadly force can be used. New law more specific The new law defines a person’s home as any property with a roof where the person lives and also includes “curtilage,” which is the area immediately around a home. It defines a person’s workplace as any property with a roof used for commercial purposes. It says a home or workplace can be temporary or permanent and specifically says either one can be a tent. Under the new law, the lawful occupant of a home, motor vehicle or workplace isn’t required to retreat prior to using deadly force. The new law presumes that a person who unlawfully and by force enters or attempts to enter one of these locations intends to commit an unlawful act involving force or violence. The new law presumes that a lawful occupant of a home, motor vehicle or workplace reasonably fears imminent death or serious bodily harm to himself, herself or another when using defensive force likely to cause death or serious injury if: • the person against whom defensive force was used was unlawfully and forcefully entering or had already entered a motor vehicle, or workplace, or if the person had taken or was trying to take another person against his will from the home, motor vehicle or workplace; • the person using defensive force knew or had reason to believe that an unlawful and forcible entry or unlawful and forcible act was occurring or had occurred. When deadly force isn’t lawful The new law says presumption of lawful use of deadly force does not apply when: • the person against whom the defensive force is used has the right to be in or is a lawful resident of the home, motor vehicle, or workplace, and there is no written injunction or order prohibiting contact; • the person sought to be removed from the home, motor vehicle or workplace is a child or grandchild or is in the lawful custody or under lawful guardianship of the person against whom defensive force is used; • the person using defensive force is using the home, motor vehicle, or workplace to further any criminal offense that involves the use or threat of physical force or violence against anyone; • the person against whom the defensive force is used is a law enforcement officer or bail bondsman in lawful performance of his official duties, and the officer or bail bondsman identified himself or herself or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person entering or attempting to enter was a law enforcement officer or bail bondsman; • the person against whom defensive force is used has discontinued efforts to unlawfully and forcefully enter the home, motor vehicle or workplace and has exited those locations. Defense of self or others The new law also modifies rules of self-defense and defense of others. It provides a person using non-deadly force with immunity from civil and criminal liability if the person using it reasonably believes it’s necessary for defense against imminent unlawful force. It says a person can use deadly force without first retreating if the person reasonably believes it’s necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or another person or under circumstances permitted under the state’s revised Castle Doctrine. It says a person using non-deadly or deadly force in accordance with the new law is protected from civil or criminal liability unless he used it against a law enforcement officer lawfully performing his duties and the officer identified himself as required or the person using force knew or should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer lawfully performing his duties. Defensive force isn’t justified for people committing or escaping after committing a felony or who provokes the use of force. The new law says a person attempting to commit, committing, or escaping after the commission of a felony isn’t justified in using defensive force. The new law says a person who provokes use of force against himself is justified in using defensive force if he believes he is in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm and has no reasonable way to escape. It says this person is also justified in using defensive force if he clearly indicates he wants to withdraw from physical contact and the other person continues use of force. Old law much shorter The much shorter law being replaced says, “A lawful occupant within a home or other place of residence is justified in using any degree of force that the occupant reasonably believes is necessary, including deadly force, against an intruder to prevent a forcible entry into the home or residence or to terminate the intruder’s unlawful entry if the occupant reasonably apprehends that the intruder may kill or inflict serious bodily harm to the occupant or others in the home or residence, or if the occupant reasonably believes that the intruder intends to commit a felony in the home or residence.” It also says, “A lawful occupant within a home or other place of residence does not have a duty to retreat from an intruder in the circumstances described in this section.”
  23. Just like the one I won from Armalite. Unfortunately it came with the solid foam instead of the one with the squares you just tear out. :( I've been too lazy to cut out the shape of my gun so far but it still works GREAT.

    Heroes

Just my lame attempt at some humor comparing heroes from the past and current heroes of the younger generation. :)
