    That thar is one of them rare pancake clips. Snap a couple together for a "short stack", or snap 4 together at the edges for a "death squared" configuration.

    For 300 yards or less, check out a little less magnification on a variable scope. The 1-7x24-32 families (1-4, 1.5-6, 2-6, 2-7, etc.) really shine at those distance, are pretty compact, and don't weigh a lot. Check out that smaller Vortex PST...you may like it.

    The Chinese have been masters at counterfeiting. They took their crappy M14 magazines and now they are VERY hard to tell from original GI...nearly identical proofs and stamps. For a bit there you could only tell by how many tack welds and where. They seem to have that pretty well figured out now.

    One instructor around here does that with his good "surplus deals" he gets. He's also the only that says "There was something wrong with that ammo which blew up my rifle...at first I thought it was my reloads but it was that surplus." Two rifles down so far.
