Sadly I see that plan having a better chance at preserving Liberty than the license plan. Not even gonna research the prior confiscation issue, I am more concerned with heading of any possible future issues, I do not have your faith in government.

A law abiding American should never have to have a tax stamp in the first place but that’s on our ancestors but my mission to get it changed!
-
I really wish I could have your faith and trust in government to do what is right, life would be so much less stressful.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

A OK here so far, three more weeks and step 1 is done, no issues from the treatment yet. 4 moves last year and three already this year, not much stress for me but then I only move a few boxes and guns and then it's only a lease that the government covers when I break it Looking forward to seeing the side charger thing, been thinking of one down the road but want to watch a few first and learn from others mistakes. Hope you get all settled in soon, hate it when you gotta spend time searching for what you know you have but don't remember the box it went in! -

From the ATF's own site; https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/national-firearms-act "Title II amended the NFA to cure the constitutional flaw pointed out in Haynes. " "In 1986, this Act amended the NFA definition of “silencer” by adding combinations of parts for silencers and any part intended for use in the assembly or fabrication of a silencer." And this little quote from their site should give you a hint on what they think about proposed intentions; "While the NFA was enacted by Congress as an exercise of its authority to tax, the NFA had an underlying purpose unrelated to revenue collection. As the legislative history of the law discloses, its underlying purpose was to curtail, if not prohibit, transactions in NFA firearms. "

I did already, did you read the links in those quotes? I mean read the whole article and check the references, it is solid and factual.

Where the hell is green mist when you need him, he could explain the plot behind this
-
See the above wikipedia article and the references included, just the plain undisputed truth, do you want me to believe that is all just a ruse? It has been changed and will be changed at every opportunity we give them.
-
Wow, do you not understand the meaning of the words amended, modified, revision, changed? read the history of the act and you will see these words used over and over. The act itself has been changed several times. Yes other acts were passed that had an effect on it but the act itself does not stand today verbatim as it was written and passed in 1934. I would not say you are a lier, just misguided in your argument.

Must have read it completely three times already and reread several sections. Sorry but you are living in fantasy land if you think that a permit or licence is not a substantial equivalent to registration, they have your name and your address with either one. The German government had laws in place preventing government use of registration records, how did that work out when the nazi party won? And besides as pointed out several times, this is an article from a liberal rag bent on taking our guns, ever think this is a manipulation attempt to sucker us into another compromise or cause dissent in our ranks? If so it appears to be working.
-
And that has been proven out in history. Most of which we seem sadly doomed to repeat!

They have changed portions of it. It is a long and complicated law that has had the verbage adjusted many times. Did you read the wiki page, they go step by step listing the changes made? Just a few of the changes made; Minimum barrel length was soon amended to 16 inches for rimfire rifles and by 1960 had been amended to 16 inches for centerfire rifles as well.[7] In addition to fixing the defect identified in Haynes, the revision tightened definitions of the firearms regulated by the Act, as well as incorporating a new category of firearm, the Destructive Device, which was first regulated in the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. NFA categories have been modified by laws passed by Congress, rulings by the Department of the Treasury and regulations promulgated by the enforcement agency assigned to known as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives or ATF. In 1960 Congress changed the transfer tax for all AOW category firearms to $5. The transfer tax for machine guns, silencers, SBR and SBS remained at $200.[10] For example, in Ruling 81-4, ATF declared that any AR-15 Drop-in Auto-Sear (DIAS) made after November 1, 1981 is itself a machine gun, and is therefore subject to regulation.[12]

I'm starting to see that get shrunk again by a 1/16 and sometimes an 1/8th. It would be interesting to see numbers on the actual strength of a 1950's 2x4 versus today's 2x4, they sure let some substantial knots get by these days.
-
The additional federal laws did change the actual NFA act from its original verbiage. The wikipedia page does a good job of hitting these changes one by one, I'm not gonna count them, feel free; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act Sorry for being so loquacious in my original response.

Just added to on numerous occasions when the sheeple begged to be protected from some imaginary boogey man created by politicians and mass media, it's still an unconstitutional law says this originalist. The socialist/progressive experiment began by the court in the early 1900's will be the undoing of our nation, many would say it is undone. Only by appointing a court that will judge each individual case by it's constitutional merits can the federal ship be righted without violence. That court will never be created with the current culture in America, right back to the long slow process of changing the culture. I think there has been a shift these last several years, people are beginning to feel the repercussions of a top down tyrannical government and starting to think about how it happened. Once people understand how and why we are where we are the rebuilding process can start.

Eastern time zone, that and I wake up at 4AM with nothing to do on the weekends!

That used to be my reply before I had the tape. What does a Canadian 2x4 measure these days?

The few years I was home regularly I did the same, mostly anaheim, poblano, and jalapeno, guess I did the ancho thing and didn't know it. I would roast a bunch of them before packaging for a little extra grilled flavor in the winter months. Now I am at the mercy of the local market, used some cubanelle peppers for the last batch but they didn't add much zip. Dinner is on;

Got her assembled and did a quick break in while home this last time. No malfunctions and seems to be fairly accurate with irons, Matech rear BUIS. About 2 MOA which is as good as my eyes will do with anything. Hope to get a scope on it next time home and see if it is worth any further work. The ATACS finish seems to be pretty tender, acquired several scratches and bald high spots just from assembly and a range trip so not sure it would be worth any further enhancements to the finish.

Great minds think alike! I have had two large chuck roasts in the oven at 300 for about 5 hours now, salt, pepper, and garlic on the roasts then saran wrapped and overnight in the fridge. Use parsnips and carrots instead of potatoes(new low carb diet I am trying) jalapenos and poblanos for peppers, lots of onion and a large container of mushrooms. It's almost completely fork tender now. I freeze meal size containers for later consumption but tend to gorge myself when it's fresh out of the oven.
