I've never had luck easing the bolt shut, last year I got in stand and forgot to close the bolt, I had the deer in my sights 150 yards thru the hard woods pulled the trigger, F I forgot to chamber a round I let that SOB fly deer spooked but didn't bolt as they couldn't pin point me with the echo and I drove one right thru the boiler room. I know it sucks making all that noise but better safe than sorry. And also stated the next how many ever rounds are going to be slammed in there the same way

Lol problem with that is when it's warm enough for that the black flies and skeeters are so thick you need long sleeves and pants to protect from that! If it ain't one thing it's another lol. 30's that's pants and sweat shirt weather lol I hardly ever wear a winter coat

Talking 24+ in the UP guessing sisco is probably in that 24" range too being where he is. That amount of snow really isn't unheard of but this time of year it hardly ever happens

If this past weekend is any sign of how gun season goes it looks like I'll be getting in touch with nature cuz I'm pretty sure the deer migrated south with the ducks! My buddies are trying to get outta the woods right now, 18-20" of snow at the cabin not what we need!

Bucks are hot and horned up but I don't think the does are in estrus yet, they havnt booted their yearlings yet. 55 here yesterday its 30 right now with rain sleet and snow, but that's typical for wisconsin lol

I love this weather!!! Hell it's 50 here right now and I'm in a tshirt and jeans and still warm. It was 28-34* at the cabin this weekend perfect hunting weather

They're getting 14-18" of snow where I just was hunting in N Wisconsin, going to need snow shoes for gun season

Only thing I process is the scrap and scrifice a roast or two for jerky rest of it goes into steaks and tender loin

Do you have the roasts off of either deer?? I'll give you my jerky recipy if you want it

Their shop isn't far from me buddy of mine used to paint for them and another friend does photography for them

It'll be a debate till the end of time, myself like a good thru and thru. Not that I've shot a ton of deer but between 30-06 and .308 all my deer have tipped over in 30-40 yards. I've also seen deer with there vitals in the trees and blood all over go 1/8-1/4 mile with a 30-06 shot. It's all personal preference I guess. I also know a few guys that think they need to use a 7mm or 300 win mag at >150 yards and blow the ever loving poop outta their deer. Let's see your Doe wash don't be ashamed lol

I remember when this all happened I was 4-5th grade not to far from where I live. Was the talk of the area lol
