Nope, It did at one time when it was over gassed but I put an adjustable gas block on and that eliminated all my issues as far as that goes. How do your rims look any bending like you might have some early extraction going on.

I've read on other forums where Winchester primmer have had issues of blowing out just like yours so you may have gotten a bad lot of primers as far as the blown one goes. But the cratering and ejector swipe would give me some concern I would back it down some.

I tried to a trigger job once on my DPMS and failed miserably. In short it failed almost all safety checks just a slight bump on the stock and the hammer fell. I have a feeling the only way to keep it from firing full auto was to hold the trigger back and let the disconnect hold the hammer, never did a live fire with it just got an Giessele trigger in it and never looked back. Gave that trigger to my Pastor who is also an armor for the police dept. to play with and have some fun. Glad you were able to the job without going to far but as for me Giessele all the way.

Ya save your brass you won't have any trouble getting rid of it when the time comes.

I use to have this problem with my DPMS but I also had other issues going on that related to over gassing. When I put an adjustable gas block on the rifle all my brass problems went away and the case necks come out nice and round. I have the carbine length gas system which seems to be harder on brass than mid and rifle length gas systems.

If this is a new build try oiling the bolt and carrier to the point thats dripping with oil. You can't oil them enough when your breaking them in.

If its a DPMS look on the bottom of barrel and see what chamber they have stamp on it then report back.

Sharpies are your friend brother, I mark all my brass with either charge weights or length or what ever I,m trying to do so I don't ever get them mixed up. The markings come mostly off when I tumble the shot brass then I'll use some 0000 steel wool to remove the rest, doesn't hurt the brass any. I'll take the cronny next time and get some numbers and see how constant the numbers are.
