That gives me around .027" difference which to me seems pretty excessive, as far as the seating plug goes I don't think I'm having any issues there because it leaves a slight ring around the ogive at same place on every round that I seat.

Yep there the polymer tipped I just got done loading the test batch of 15 rounds to see which one shoots good 3 five round groups for each bullet length that I came across. I'm hoping that one will be the accuracy node that I came across before. Then make adjustments to the other groups of bullets to hopefully match the first test. Make sense :eek13: This batch of brass is .9gr difference for 20 pieces, I divide mine up in 20 piece lots. I did weigh the bullets and there wasn't but a .2 or .3 gr difference between them with one oddball that was .5 With supplies the way they are right now I'm stuck with what I got so hopefully I'll get this worked out and be back to shooting MOA or better groups with this rifle again. I'm defiantly going to go down to sierra when I get a chance to see if they have any stock.

These are horndy A-max bullets and yea it took me by surprise that there would be that much of a difference. I haven't weighed them yet but I'm going to. I'm thinking along this line hear because as I measure them I,m coming up three distinct groups one around .633 and .644 and .660 I guess to figure things out I'm going to load a test batch and see which bullet length performs the best. Then make adjustments for the other lengths of bullets and see how that goes. Sierra is just 50 miles down the road from me I really need to get there and check there blem barrels and take a tour of the factory.

Hey guy's been fighting some inconsistent groups with my 168gr loads sometimes there dead balls accurate and other times 2.00" and worse. Out of frustration pulled some down and started checking various things and found using Hornady's compairiter I found that the bullets varried in length from .633 to .660. Soo should I try loading for same depth the bullet base is seated in the case? Have any of you guy's tried this and how did it work? To me seems this would give more consistent pressures if all this makes any sense.

Zebra644, I took my time 6 hours to change them out. I followed the TSB that Ford has out on this and had no problems changing them and Lisle is suppose to have the extraction tool if do break one. Hows your injectors holding up did you ever get the letter stating that they can fail at anytime? I found the replacement injectors on Amazon for $25.00 each witch is a lot better than the $65.00 each that ford wanted. Texas, I've heard of that before but I was just to scared to try it. It would of saved a lot of time going that rout.

I just changed out my spark plugs on my 05 F150 with the 5.4. For those of you that are in the know this is my second time changing my plugs on this motor, did the first time at 35k and this time at 115k miles. Was starting to get an intermittent miss so I figured it was time. Since this is an 05 I decided to replace 7 of my injectors as well (1 replaced under warranty) and cleaned the throttle body at the same time. The injectors had to be replaced because Fords supplier sent them a bunch of bad ones so Ford extended the warranty to 120k miles instead of stepping up and just replacing them. The truck runs like its brand new now. For those of who don't know Ford had a spark plug issue with the 2004-2008 5.4 3 valve motor where the plug could separate and part of it would stay stuck in the head witch would cause you to buy a special extraction tool to remove the stuck part. The lower electrode part with the carbon on would separate from the threaded part.

Since I use my press for seating primers I haven't swag any of my crimp primer pockets and haven't had any issues with getting them seated other than the additional force needed to get by the crimp. All primers have gone bang when I pull the trigger and none have deformed or discharged when seating. So you might give it try if your tired of swagging.

This is why we need punishment that fits the crime. Let us do some smack down on this dirt bag then toss him down a flight of stairs and see how quick he does that again. Of course I would make sure neck broke on the way down >:D

I'm the same way and it started when I took the Mrs. car in to get fixed and they never got it right finally got a refund and went and bought a repair manual and haven't looked back since, although there might of been a few choice words along the way. After all these the thing that sucks the worse is my knees, giving me fits when I have to do something so in another 10-15 years I might not be able to do the same work that I normal do now and thats going to suck to have to pay somebody to do it.
-
I have to agree there is something about fixing something thats broke and getting the since of accomplishment and a job well done

I still change the oil but I do know underneath work is getting harder to do. Knees seem to be the limiting factor right now. Working up top isn't bad yet but starting to lean towards unforgiven in the not anymore stage.

Just got done replacing the heating element on our dryer because after 20 years it had enough and burned out. Witch got me thinking, I wounder how many people still work on there own household appliances and what ever else needs repair. So how many of you work on your own stuff or hire out to have it done? I try to do everything my self I know some things I,ll have to hire out because of laws and license to be able to buy the parts but if I can I will take a stab at it myself.

I'm surprised the IRS didn't beam in Spock from their stupid Star Trek video :loser:

Having my supervisor tell me to do something I'm already doing. I feel like saying "have you been eye doctor lately", you can't see I'm doing this already or is your manhood being threatened because I don't need to be told what to do. But I don't I just say "sure" just to get them to leave me alone to do my job. For those of you who don't know I work at UPS in their irreg dept. I handle all the packages that are over 70lbs or to long or large to go on the normal conveyor belt system. We load them up on trams and run them to the trailer to be loaded on.
