Magwa, you don't know how many times I wish I could go and shoot in a pit or some land to stretch out some. As far as people goes you can meet some pretty nice people and strike up some friendships. Then there is the other side of it some people should have more training before setting foot on a live fire range if you could see where some of the bullet holes are you would understand. Well I'm lucky in part because our range is only 20min. from me and its only $3.00 per hour but only goes from 25-100 yards. Would love to get out beyond 200 yards thats as far as I can go when my brother takes me out to his range which is an hour drive for me. I think I'm getting range envy now glad you were able to work it out with the owner. Thats cool plane, do you still take her out? My son use to go but now he's discovered girls (17) so he doesn't go that much with me any more. Even though this is an out door range the way they designed it the wind has little to no effect on your shots I'll gets some pics next time I go. Its basically right across the street from the Lake City Ammo plant would love to be able to stop over there and look around but homeland security would have a cow.

Well we just assaulted Pryor he has looks of that victim mentality 24-7 Chiefs, 6-0 baby. They said we broke Seattle's record today for loudest open air stadium to but cut to the Cinci game before they said by how much.

Its the 4th and its been a hell of a game so far, of course rivalry games always are. The 12th man has been the valuable player so far with with several false starts and delay of games have caused havoc with the Raiders. One quarter to go and its still anybodies game, as far as the record goes I've seen a high of 112 db but there not showing the sound level the whole time.

Cool sounds like a good time especially food and beer after words. Sounds like that M1a is straight shooter always wanted one but went with the AR platform instead, oh well maybe one of these days. So is it a Springfield? I need to take my camera out to the range one day and post some pics.

Went to the range today to get sighted in for deer season and shot this at a 100 yrds today. If I see a deer this year its mine <thumbsup> I'm glad I got to the range when I did all 20 lanes filled up as soon as they opened. Weather was perfect and you should of seen the looks when I brought my target back from down range <dontknow> they act like they have just seen Carlos Hathcock or the likes. I think most people at the range don't expect to much when they shoot most are at 50 yards with there high power rifles and AR's the .22's are at 25 to 50 which is expected. How is it when you guy's go to the range on crowded days? Do you see other people shoot as good or better than you? I do now and then but not as often I think I would and I don't consider myself that great of a shot.

Airplanes been buzzing the house all day today for a record fly over at Arrow Head tomorrow for breast cancer. Suppose to be 48 planes with pink smoke pots flying over the stadium along with the loudest stadium record try tomorrow I wish I had a ticket.

Going to try my 168 gr A-max loads this year, I did some research and sounds like they perform pretty well on deer size game but don't know how they would hold up on larger game.

Alright first thing is whats your barrel length and is this factory or hand loads did you chronograph the loads? The reason I ask is barrel length makes a difference in velocity if your reading it off a box of factory ammo, the test barrels typically run 20"-24". If your running a 16" barrel there is no way your getting 2650 fps from factory loads but you might from a warm hand load ( ask me how I know ::) ) If they used a 20" test barrel and got an average of 2650 your probably only getting 2550 from an 16" barrel, its common to knock off 25 fps per inch shorter your barrel is compared to the test barrel. I just finished using an chronograph for my 168 gr A-max hand loads and they run 2575 out of my 16" barrel DPMS rifle I then went to Hornady web site and used there ballistics calculator and came up with this.
