I am on mandatory down time and the Orofino Fire is pretty much a whipped dog... just mop up left so we not have our engines back at the station , oil changes wash and clean up resupply, and be ready for anything here on the home front I am going to sleep for a week.

That is correct get the Fook out of there anyone who is near any of these fires get their evac kits together Important papers ,Insurance, passports etc etc pictures have this stuff ready so if (and i hope you don't) they call for you to evac you can load and go....

so found out today they are keeping a few of us on for a bit longer to run patrol at night to keep this bad boy in it's place went on shift last night 1900 and this was our first stop... It just won't give up but it will not win!!!!

Just to much smoke to get any good pics but the good news is the Municipal Fire as it is being called (the one that started Friday) is now over 85% contained and should mop up easy if the weather stays like it is cool nights and no wind days we finnally got it corraled at 1776 acres there were homes lost not sure of the count but at least this one is pretty much done. The others in the area continue to grow and the feds took control today they have a much bigger bag of tricks to work from I wish them all the best....
