Got in from a 16 hour shift my type 6 engine , a type4 engine and a Tinder Water truck) with a 2500 gallon tank and a monitor (water cannon) and two other tinders worked a 4 mile stretch of a road keeping the Orofino fire from jumping the road there were so many hot spots and trees flaming up we just went from hot spot to hot spot knocking them down finally ten hours in we started getting to put them out and by end of shift we had that side mopped up really good .... I am on 24 hours off now but back to the battle in the Am... we now have 3 more new fires in the last 24 hours my best elk hunting spot is burning as we speak.....
It is insane guys just got back from my second 14 hour shift in the last 36 hours we saved a bunch of homes last night and kept the fire from jumping the road for a 5 mile stretch.... I am to old for this $hit..... one fire covered 5 miles in 13 min. another went from 400 acres to 1500 in 3 hours all driven by 35 to 40 mile a hour winds and temps near 100....
CPL666K9 you stay safe brother i know your town got evacuated yesterday that is a bad MO FO fire....
Thanks all for the prayers we need a bunch of them....
Vtac slings rock I have like 3 or 4 vickers and I have to admit they are well built but the function is what is so nice I need to get on the beachin wagon and get me one....
I too connect all mine except my hunting LR308 the same way just behind the pistol grip i do this so that I have more manuvrability with the butt stock when the sling is attached to the end of the butt stock the whole gun has to be brought to the shoulder in a different way than with the pistol grip attachment....and when hanging a weapon in front of you the pistol grip meathod seems easier to manipulate for me...
A sad but true story, flash back 51 years I had not thought about this for a long long time I am 14 have my 12 gauge and going duck hunting with friends before school we arrive at the place and start walking accross a field to a earth dam (ducks on other side we are going to surprise them) their is one fence to cross and I start through the third and fourth strands I always just use my gun and push down the wire and go under as I am coming out the other side BOOM! my gun catches a piece of wire on the trigger and fires a load of number 4 shot 1 inch in front of my left foot the hole in the ground is smoking and I am scared $hitless I realize at that moment what I had done ,the rules of gun safety I had broken but I was lucky it missed me by a inch....from that day forward all fences ,all guns unloaded and layed on ground on other side.... I still get scared remembering that day and how stoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooopid I was.....
eff walmart if they follow that line of thinking I will never step foot in another one ever don't care what their prices are , really can't stand the place anyway eff em!
I wear the camo 8 inch top lace up don't know the model but two years elk hunting in very steep ground and they have not broken down at all and my feet feel great at the end of a day and they are gortex waterproof... i can snap you a pic if you like ..
