  1. If you reload that M80 brass up to FGMM standard, you don't even talk about payback. My M80 ammo is purchased so I can shoot it up with kids and people not so interested in accuracy and prep the fired brass for some good loads.
  2. Think of it this way Mark, you have a few years to build all three 308ARs.
  3. Thanks 98 for the real story. Man you know a lot! That is a sweet looking set up. I would go broke buying 45 acp if I had something like that. It does suck they are closing. They have had some good ideas in the past, all it takes sometimes is one screw up to ruin everything I guess.
  4. Try em like you do with Koalas, with gravy! By the way, fess up. Your neighbor says it was only 292 yards, and it was so cold their nipples were erect.
  5. Their proprietary 308 Magazine was $84!
  6. My mistake I just went on their website and they had brought out a line of 308 AR's. Never heard much about them though. http://www.olyarms.com/shop/rifles.html?cat=79
  7. I read on another forum about Olympic Arms closing. While they never made a 308AR, I think they were the first to make non proprietary AR15 receivers. They ran into some bad press a few years ago for some defects I believe were attributed to forging flaws(can't really remember). They fixed the problem, but never regained traction in the AR market. I have an old Olympic Arms Plinker Plus AR carbine from them that is my experiment rifle that I use to learn. Picked it up for $485 new. Actually is a pretty good rifle. I replaced the carry handle receiver with a flat top, and one of these days will slap a chrome lined or stainless barrel on it. Sorry to see them go, but it is a tough, overcrowded market now, and with the Republicans in office, no AR buying crazes are on the horizon. Good for us, not so good for the manufacturers. This was sent out a few days ago. After more than 40 years of business, it is with great sorrow that we announce that February 28th, 2017 will be the last day of operation for Olympic Arms, Inc.The Schuetz family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all their friends, associates, and partners that have been a part of the Olympic Arms experience. Most of all we would like to thank our loyal customers and patrons who have been with us all this time.In the course of closing, we are announcing the following changes in policy effective immediately:1. All sales are final.2. No refunds or returns will be accepted after 1-25-2017.3. All Warranty service ceases 1-25-2017. Warranty work and repairs currently in-house will be serviced and returned.4. New orders will only be taken for inventory currently in stock, or that can be built from remaining inventory.5. All inventory will be liquidated.6. ALL SALES will cease at close of business 28 February, 2017Thank you for your patronage
  8. As the rule applies I will do a write up on it this spring when I can get out to the range again.
  9. Not a build, but note the caliber they choose. https://armalite.com/shop/ar-10prc-260308/
  10. I have ordered a large pin single stage trigger from Tsunami Arms, based in Fountain Hills Arizona, for my old HBAR. Has anybody had experience with them? As it doesn't get used that much, I had trouble justifying $300 for a Geissele large pin. This was $135 for a 3.5 pound pull weight drop in. What little I have seen is positive, but any first hand experience would be good to know.

  12. I will, it will be at least a year from now. I do want to get up to Hanoi and also if possible get to Laos. Right now we are leaning on going with a tour organization we have used before and trust. They do a 3 week trip. And they know their stuff. When Arab Spring hit Egypt a few years ago, they had 324 people in Egypt on various tours. They got everyone out of the country in 24 hours. I like a travel company that has a good emergency response plan. As far as eating street food, I sold in the field of Infectious Disease and Parasitology for over 30 years. I know what you are talking about.
  13. I have a red original and a green original. Got the Rancher last year for half price at the Duluth Sportshow. I will be looking for some more deals at it this year.
  14. Angor Wat is on the bucket list. Also have some good friends from the 1960's who were in Vietnam courtesy of Uncle Sam. A couple of them never came back from there. I want to see the country, but pay my respects to their memories as well. Thanks for the tip on the weather. I am thinking of taking that boat trip up the Mekong into Cambodia while we are there. A good friend did it and recommended it highly.
  15. Up here is Stormy Kromer country. They are made just 35 miles away in Ironwood Michigan. This is my favorite for winter, the Rancher.
  16. Believe me best way to wear it. Its so heavy a belt holster pulls your pants to your ankles. That might work for MikeDaddies harem, but nobody wants to see me like that.
  17. http://www.selwayarmory.com/silver-state-armory-308-winchester-168-gr-hollow-point-boat-tail-match-ammo-can-of-460.html If this is any good it is a pretty good price.

  19. Thinking of that for our next trip!
  20. My standard AR10 A4 with the Nikon Monarch on it is at least as accurate, probably more, then my AR10T bull barrel carbine with a Burris 3x9 Fullfield on it. Comparing apples to oranges, but good optics make a huge difference.
  21. If you want better, DNP is right on the money. A free float handguard might help, but there are a lot of other things to try first. 1 MOA is pretty good for a stock rifle. What optics are you using? What ammo? All these things affect accuracy.
  22. No you didn't we are just going off thread for a while before we come back to it. Now back to range brass.
  23. Tell me what the neighbors say when you shoot your years venison in the back yard like we do.
  24. Interesting!
