that's the funny thing, if you sell it as a kit for making your own silencer, and are clear that they have to send in a form 1, pay the ATF tax, etc then there isn't any big deal at all. but you try and dick around with it and are dumb enough to make it too close to constructive intent in your pictures...

well if it was one of the ones that was a "solvent trap" matching the threading on a maglight. there was one that had pictures of it next to the maglight and of course a gun on the ebay auctions, then they could have gotten the seller with constructive intent. And then they had the list of buyers, and visited them in person to make sure it wasn't together with a maglight filled with anything :)

The trick is, that particular model may have been too close to a suppressor, so they arrested the seller and got his list of who he sold to so as to reclaim them. that seems to be the most likely. I've seen similar happen before like with 80% lowers or WWII gun parts kits

Argh I've got a psl in the mail and tracking hasn't been updated since early morning sunday, and it was supposed to hit the FFL yesterday :(

I haven't done it myself, have talked to others who have. They say they just reload them twice max, so they keep them labeled, etc and cautiously examine between rounds.

steel isn't as flexible as brass so although its possible, the likelihood of catastrophic failure is also much higher
