  1. No real news on those barrels. I haven't gotten one myself yet to compare so I can't really make any objective statements on them.
  2. yeah, we're finally getting back on track
  3. I voted
  4. I know a little about the pistols, never got into the rifles. replicas vary in prices, but expect for a nice 1800s colt revolver with brass frame to run in the $250-400 range, most of the time over 300. Steel framed ones more like 350+ I've got if I recall an 1857 army in 44 and an 1861 navy in 36, both replicas of course. fun to shoot.
  5. Actually no money has gone into my 308AR in a while. its all been into WWII parts kits, plus a FAL parts kit
  6. dammit, why don't I have $259 handy?
  7. On a water budget, you can do a $1000 308 AR in a few varieties now. Welcome from FL, I used to work for a company out of Troy. Loved visiting to drive through Dothan and get some good BBQ.
  8. I dunno, the Lapua stuff is over $2 a round http://www.midwayusa.com/product/776124/lapua-scenar-ammunition-308-winchester-167-grain-hollow-point-boat-tail-box-of-50
  9. weebles wobble but they don't fall down.
  10. you have to shoot it like this
  11. well, what Wash was saying is that building a 308 AR and having it work the first time you pull the trigger with no issues is hard enough with buying a stripped lower that is complete, so doing the first one as an 80% just makes it a lot harder to figure out the initial issues. Unlike the AR15, there isn't a perfect mil spec standard for these, so there are variances manufacturer to manufacturer. So far as uppers, any upper that fits the DPMS LR308 pattern should work, excepting possibly palmetto state armory's (PSA). their 308 AR stuff looks to be a mess so far. The standard DPMS upper is available pretty cheap, I've seen it below $100 lately. i'm assuming you'll want to assemble the upper yourself.
  12. if nobody recognizes it, your best bet will be to buy one of the universal/adjustable jigs, but those suckers are expensive. otherwise its hard to say just how well any given jig will fit up to that, given the magwell shape and some of the other differences.
  13. Doesn't your friend know where he got it from?
  14. not bad now that you found what it likes to eat
  15. looks worth the drive!
  16. fresh new prototype of the .45 can, hot off the lathe, so not even sent out for anodizing yet. And yes, I receive it in the mail as i'm a responsible person on shadow ops FFL :D
  17. Yeah, this is an NEC XG 110LC. Its gorgeous, but puts out maybe 900 lumens tops. Have had it in my dedicated movie room since 2005 :) all blacked out room to get a good picture. but its amazing for movies + video games. Can't quite get mine stable at 1080p, but looks spectacular at 1080i
  18. lord, i'm still rockin a 140lb 3 tube boardroom style CRT projector on my celing.
  19. that's pretty sharp. pity the scope isn't working out

    Grilling

damn, that never crossed my mind, but its brilliant. 15 minutes with a welder and die grinder with cutting wheel
  21. there's this too http://www.cdnnsports.com/email-specials/dpms-lr308t-308-optic-ready.html#.VEFn7st0xOQ $799 for a DPMS complete rifle
  22. welcome from FL
  23. if budget were no issue.... probably a proof carbon fiber http://proofresearch.com/the-products/barrels/ar-carbon-fiber-barrel-calibers-lengths/
  24. define distance. if its less than 800 yards, a 16 or 14.5 with a permanently pinned muzzle brake will do that
  25. yeah, true, what was I thinking on the PSA thing? sigh
