  1. Doesn't get much lighter than a CTR, iMOD, or stock M4 carbine stock.
  2. http://www.rogtac.com/optics-sights/back-up-iron-sights/kac-offset-buis-300m.html There you go. Use "SAVE10" to get 10% off (good till labor day). Free shipping on all orders. I get stuff from this shop all the time.
  3. You like heavy stocks! With glass up top why not get KAC 45deg flip up irons?
  4. Definitely try various Geissele triggers out before you buy if you can. I like the SD-E of the ones I've used (SSA, SSA-E, SD-E). You're also going to need to try different stocks out. I had an EMOD on my Mk216, but found that my head sat a little to low in my scope with it. I tried Robo's ACS though and that was perfect for me (and as such bought shibiwan's). You'll also want to get a mil-spec carbine receiver extension (7075 aluminum, lots of "mil-spec" tubes are only mil-spec diameter and made of weaker 6061 aluminum), an end plate (probably one with a QD such as the B5 systems, IWC, or Noveske), and castle nut.
  5. SSD time! So you plan on taking this rifle with you to war very soon to club some tangos? As practical as you make it sound, it isn't practical to sacrifice daily accuracy and precision for the <1% case that you manage to bump the rifle so damn hard that the barrel gets that bent... Long FF rails will cover more of the barrel and protect it more. I could definitely affect the POI on my carbine with the MOE handguards by manipulating the sling.
  6. An adjustable gas block will also allow you to tune the recoil impulse of the rifle by adjusting the gas instead of buying heavier buffers and stronger springs.
  7. I had MOE handguards on my AR-15 but the way I grip the gun (thumb over top) didn't fit well with the handguards. Since they have a sloped in top section with the widest portion in the lower 1/4 of the handguard, there wasn't enough material on the side of the handguards to fill the contour of my palm. This led to hand fatigue quicker.
  8. A full LPK with an ALG QMS FCG is always nice as a reference level. I also like the idea of the LPK without FCG and A2 grip.
  9. I have the Griffin 7.62 Flash Comp and am happy with it. I also have a PWS FSC30 and prefer the Griffin. I was surprised how easy it was to shoot my MK216 standing with the Griffin. Now if only Robocop could find some damn time so we can finally shoot and compare the Griffin and BABC!
  10. Your stock compatibility is based upon the receiver extension (buffer tube) you use. Is yours mil-spec or commercial-spec diameter? Based upon that you need to get the mil-spec or commercial-spec ACS stock.
  11. Props to Red's Trading Post in Idaho from me. They helped me acquire my PWS MK216 for less than MSRP and make it CA compliant. Their communication is very fast and helpful. One of their smiths accidentally forgot some of my extra parts (since I had a bullet button installed) and when I contacted them about it they immediately searched, found, and then shipped them to me. For all my FFL transfers I use UG Imports in Fremont, CA. Lowest transfer fees in the Bay Area and a solid guy.
  12. From what I could find, the stock M4a1 gas port is 0.052" and the 10.3" MK18 is 0.07". You'll definitely want an H2 buffer.
  13. The government power point for the future soldier program and OICW was awesome too... Of course it's going to sound awesome if the presenters' asses are on the line! The government wouldn't be guarding the M855A1 pressure specs like the gold at Ft. Knox if there wasn't something suspect about it (tests show lots of the ammo at about 62,000PSI while M855 spec is 55,000PSI)... Here's a breakdown of the M855A1 presentation:
  14. Hopefully this isn't as bad as M855A1 wearing out barrels quicker, having larger pressure variances, and overall decreasing reliability...
  15. You'll most likely need your gas port re-sized.
  16. FaRKle!

    Howdy!

Dude, you can upgrade to 16:10 now ya know!
  17. Or Rocksett, but that's like Blue loctite. Just torque it, no need to heat (although for red loctite you'll want to heat to 500F).

    Howdy!

    Open yer eyes Asian! =P
  19. It might be a while before I can get some range time, review, and pics with this ammo. I need to fix a tractor to plow the tall grass at the ranch first. I'll post what I can when I do shoot it though!
  20. Not sure if these are the new G3's or not (which are supposed to be released about now). Not a bad buy at $20/mag in this current market... Now if they'd only release the 10rnd mags... Link
  21. I acquired some new production CBC 168gr "sniper" ammo and was wondering if anybody knows anything about it. It seems their normal M80 ball gets mixed reviews (I haven't had a problem with it though), but this could be a different case like their 5.56, which gets good reviews.
  22. Have they fixed the issues with them losing zero due to the external adjustments?
  23. The Noveske N6 is an AR-10 pattern gun, therefore you'll want an Armalite lower parts kit. The only difference IIRC is the bolt catch though. Actually there was a thread about it here:
  24. With the Vltor A5 receiver extension you'll want to use an Armalite spring and a standard AR-15 H3 buffer (or Armalite buffer). The Aramlite and Vltor A5 receiver extensions are longer than a normal AR-15 carbine receiver extension. For a .308 gun this means you use a regular length AR-15 buffer and a longer Armalite spring.
