  1. What barrel did you go with and which handguard is that?
  2. Did you see this? http://aeroprecisionusa.com/aspx/store/productdetail.aspx?pid=341 Add the coupon code: "GoHawks12" and the total is $235! I couldn't resist, so I'll see how it mates with my SI-Defense lower.
  3. According to that guy, it ruled the roost. Of course, many other similar brakes weren't tested
  4. Did you get the 5.56 or .308? Given that guy's data, do you agree, or have you tried others that work as well or better?
  5. I know, that's my point. Just because something is popular doesn't always make it a good idea. (love the dance floor quote, btw - LOL)
  6. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/11/jeremy-s/556-muzzle-device-shootout/ Although for 5.56, I thought this was interesting. Anyone have experience with a precision armament brake?
  7. Edgecrusher, yes, I shoot right next to the sea or off boats and there is salt water spray. Farkle, that's not the case with many "precision" 308 barrels I've seen come to market of late. Besides, I was referring to the list at the beginning of this thread. All of the barrels listed there as nitrided are Stainless Steel (typically 416). All the CM barrels he listed are chrome lined, not nitrided.
  8. What about a nitrided CMV option? Ferric Nitrocarborization (Nitiride/QPQ/Melonite) finishes harden the surface of both stainless and CMV. But, on CMV, nitiriing increase corrosion resistance, while when stainless steel is nitrided, it actually decreases its corrosion resistance. Just a thought.
  9. Bushnell Elite Tactical 3.5-21x50 HDMR with H59 reticle ~$1500. Got amazing reviews on the precision rifle blog testing. Best bang for the buck. Plus, Todd Hodnet loves it. I got to check it out side by side with a S&B 5-25, abd it wasn't too shabby!
  10. Syrac & SLR seem to be common favorites
  11. Did it really seem like M-Lock is eclipsing Key-Mod?
  12. That's very cool. I still don't understand how you change the barrel with the gas tube n'all. Plus, the one I saw was a .308, I'm sure of it!
  13. Noted. I swore I saw a interchangeable gas gun on one of the forums reviewing this year's shot show releases.
  14. Anyone know anything about this? http://www.rivermangunworks.com/#!mbr/ciqi How might and interchangeable barrel like that work? Where's the gas block and tube? Seems like a great idea if you wanted to switch to 6.5 Creedmoor, or something of similar size. That way, all you'd need is a second barrel. Hmmm...there's got to be a catch, no?

  16. Nice
  17. Looks like JP Enterprises bought or is partnering with GoGun (SuperComp) http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.3_GoGun.php So, there might be something to that brake after all. I've got one that does a good job taming my lightweight 5.56
  18. Looks awesome so far. I'm thinking of using that upper on top of my SI Defense lower. Not sure how snug it will fit though. Guess I'll need to buy it to find out. Why didn't you get an adjustable gas block?

    300 wm

Did they mention it the 300WM was gonna be side-charging like the NEMO or have a charging handle like the MPA Guardian 300?
  20. Sweet specs. I hope its shoots as good as it sounds. I'm taking it you'll be swapping out the stock trigger? Let us know the total cost at the end of the day. I'm always curious to see how low one can go and still get great performance.

    Which Geissele?

Just found this. Cool overview of the options in the AR trigger market http://www.recoilweb.com/ar15triggerguide/
