There is no doubt your idea would look very nice, and would be a drastic improvement over available offerings. But to produce a device like this would be more costly than a threaded unit. I think that most people who are investing as much money as they do in some of these rifles want the cleaner look of having there muzzle device blended in with the existing barrel contour. A suppressor on the other hand is a whole other thing

there is also this one that is more ar15 specific but will produce 308 stuff if searched properly.

Thasts a nice looking rifle. I got rid of a colt 7.62x39 just before newtown. It never really saw the range much but it was fun to shoot. Now the SKS is the only one in the safe eating that ammo.

This thread definatley took a left so I dont mind being off topic but, When your breaking in a rifle sopping wet with oil isnt that bad for the case to be all slippery in the chamber when its fired? Or is it ok because the locking bolt holds it all back. I was always under the impression you should always keep your barrel clean and slightly oiled but your chamber clean and dry? I suppose thats what case trimmers and dies are for right.

I remember the steel wool and battery trick from boyscouts. Steel wool is easy to keep around and all you need is a flashlight battery. But with nothing on your person, Ive seen the hand made magnifying glass from a piece of ice melted between the palms of your hands to create the right convex shape but Ive never tried it. And that wouldnt exactly work in a warm climate.
