Interesting.... So they are striking the Rainier name off? I know AXTS sells the handles on their site too. Looks like the price on their site is higher.

I have seen several members looking for the Rainier Raptor. Joe Bobs has them in stock for $94.95 with free shipping. The also offer 5% off for LEO, Military, and Veterans. http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Rainier_Arms_Raptor_Ambidextrous_7_62_Charging_p/rar-raptor7.62.htm

Its out of my price range now, but if anyone wants it I can call LaRue and see if they can transfer my order to someone else. I am not looking to make any money off it. Just know it is a long wait and maybe someone else wanted it. I ordered the 18" PredatOBR 7.62. I have to look but I think it was around $3500.

I ordered an OBR a couple of years ago. I finally got an email last week that it is ready, but I don't want it now. I don't know if I can forego my order to someone else. A women in customer service called me two months ago and asked if I still wanted it, and I said no. Not sure why they kept the order, but it is still there.

Rainier Arms 16" Select Barrel on Sale
warthog984 replied to warthog984's topic in Sales and Coupons
Glad it worked out for you. -
I just picked up a Rainier Arms 16" Select barrel for $226.95 delivered. Pretty good deal. You have to enter code 0823 for this price at Rainier Arms website. For some reason it wont let me paste hyperlink, but it is under the sales tab on their site.

Precision Reflex .875" adj gas block...308 vs .223?
warthog984 replied to Scott G's topic in .308AR Parts
It looks like the PRI will not fit under most hand guards per the note on their website. I put a SLR Rifleworks adjustable gas block on mine. It is very small. Also, the SLR adjusts from the front rather the side. Makes it easier to adjust the gas with the a long allen key. -
Worked fine in my Aero Precision lower and upper combo.

Thank you for sharing the reviews. Truly classic!

Not to take away from your question, but I would think 300 BLK would be a better fit.

I have a Tucker "The Answer" IWB for my Glock 23 which I like. The just did a 20% sale, but I don't know if it is still going on.

I bought a 204 ruger barrel from Shilen a few years back. It came with the bolt. I did not headspace it because it was advertised as matched to the barrel. I had similar issues as you mentioned. I ended up sending the barrel back to further reamed. The guy from Shilen told me his gauges may have been a little off and was requesting new headspace gauges. After that I went out and bought a set of 204 ruger gauges for myself.

What do the rounds look like when they come out? Did the barrel headspace to the bolt? Can you remove the extractor and ejector and try it?

I forgot about all the hippies in Tucson as Boerboel Guy pointed out. Don't forget the snow birds. They seam to be a nuisance in the winter months.
-
I lived in Tucson for 1.5 years. I saw it snow in the valley once. The nights get cold with the wind during the winter. I live in Northern Ohio now, so the cold does not bother me much. The summers are hot as hell. Take a blow drier, turn it on high, and blow your face. That is the desert in the summer. The heat was to much for me in the valley. I spent most of my free time in the mountains were it was a lot cooler. You will see snow in the mountains in winter. There are a bunch of guys who live in Arizona on this site. Tucson has no grass or large water bodies. That was a change for me too.

yes.....they have boned more people than John Holmes and Ron Jeremy combined.

I agree with all the posts about people in wars not wanting to talk about the atrocities. My grandfather was in WW2 as most men were of the day. He served in the Battle of the Bulge. The only reason I know this is because my grandmother gave me his orders when he passed. He had two bronze stars. I remember asking him as a kid if he had any medals from the war, and his response was yes. I asked why, and his response was, " I survived." That was it. My wife's grandfather recently passed and he was a member of the Barbed Wire Buckeyes (POW Group). He was shot down in I believe Germany and held as a POW for about a year. When he died all the remaining members showed up to the funeral. I think there are only a few left. They are getting in their 90's. All very humble. Great men. I would say when a-holes dress without merit they are seeking attention for themselves. In reality they are really spitting in the faces of our true heroes. I have the highest regards for those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms. Some paid for it with literally their lives while others pay for it in the lasting memory of carnage.

When I was looking at BCGs, I noticed Radical Arms, Hardened Arms, and Red Barn Armory BCGs look identical and have the same description, "Made in the USA by US Gov't Contractor." I know member J.Peace used a Hardened Arms BCG in his build.

I just used their adjustable gas block in my 308 build. It is probably the best on the market.

Sportical help
warthog984 replied to madmike26120's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
I always preferred the cheek weld on Vltor stocks. For me it is perfect for optics mounted with ADM Recon Mounts. -
@shepp.....there was one design flaw on this beast. Look at your picture on the prior page. All the gun gas goes into the motors. After so many rounds are fired, the engines start to lack full power. Crew Chiefs would perform engine water washes to clean the compressor and fan blades. @edgecrusher....I was TDY at Barnes in Massachusetts when I was sent TDY from Germany to Vegas. Our Squadron did a pit stop there. I believe that was the 104th. I know they had A10s there in the middle 90's.

I never knew were the sent the empty cases too. The weapons loaders used a machine called the dragon to come in and empty the spent cases. I had a lot of friends that were weapons loaders and would give me empty cases. I remember one guy had has dorm plastered with empty cases. You have to love the combat special. Depleted Uranium, High Energy, and I forget the rest. I think it was 5 different projectiles. Good stuff. Each pull of the trigger was 100 rounds. The pilots would get pissed during training and mess with the round limiter because they wanted to shoot more rounds. Who could blame them.

I met a Navy Seal a couple years ago. Or so he said. In Vietnam he did recon. He said his job was to blow poop up. Cool job. The stories where always different. One day he was slashing Charlies throat like Rambo. Next day he was killing people with a single round house kick like Chuck Norris. He had issues. Long story short there is a website for checking these clowns. Also look at the Stolen Valor Act.
