Naaaa. The only reason I have any brass from the meet is that they all said it was fair game and they didn't want it. Sisco reloads....or did, but he was trying to shoot up his stash.

I'll play Devil's advocate here. Can the clowns at MDWS hold to any kind of promised schedule? May is 2/3rds over. Not exactly great customer service.

My wife and I were both laughing so hard we were almost crying! I could hardly read.

This could be the "brought back from extinction then thrown off the rails thread".

That I will have to try! My ex and I lived in La Grange KY for almost 3 years back in the late 80s. Fished Lake Shelby a few times.

I have considered that. The catch is I have a Lee die set and just recently upgraded to the Forster. I wouldn't be against cutting the depriming pin off the Lee rod but there is still the question of needing to lube the cases in order to not stick one in the die. I currently use the Lee case lube diluted 10:1 in water (its water soluble) and spray the cases with it then blow dryer them dry. Once they are sized I toss them into my wet tumbler with dawn dish soap for 20 min, rinse in hot water, then into the dehydrator to dry. A live primer wouldn't be very alive after that. Would dry tumbling in ground walnut lizard bedding be any easier on a live primer to remove any sizing lube? The whole sizing lube and cleaning it off process is why I thought about depriming them after pulling the bullets and dumping the powder back into its jug.

I've got probably 3-400 cases loaded up for my Grendel that it turns out are WAY too hot. They shoot fantastic accuracy and velocity wise but start flattening and cratering primers and leaving nasty ejector swipes after about 3 rounds in a string. I've also noticed some random loose primer pockets when repriming newly prepped cases. I know I have to pull the bullets and rework the load. I've got the collet puller to do the job efficiently but its still a royal PITA. My question involves the case necks once they are empty. They are all lightly crimped using a Lee factory crimp die. Can I get away with simply chamfering the cases again, leaving the primers in them? Or would I be better off depriming the live primers out of the whole lot and resizing them all again to remove the crimped spot on the necks?

Anyone looking a BCA Grendel barrels should take a look at how well loved (NOT) they are over on the Grendel forum. It seems to be hit or miss on getting one with a short throat or chamber and shotgun pattern accuracy.

Plans are made and the date is set. We are having a summer shoot/get together for members this summer. The shooting will take place at the Corbin shooting range between Mosinee and Wausau WI. http://www.co.marathon.wi.us/Departments/ParksRecreationForestry/RecreationOpportunities/ShootingRange.aspx The range is centrally located so driving shouldn't be bad for anyone. There are numerous motels in the area for people wanting to spend the weekend and several of us have reservations made at DuBay Shores campground. http://www.dubayshores.com/ Mention 308 forum (NOT 308AR forum) to be put in the same block of sites. Site block with #26 in upper left and #11 in lower right on this map. http://www.dubayshores.com/i/campsite_map.pdf The range is state of the art and goes out to 300 yards. http://www.co.marathon.wi.us/Portals/0/Departments/PKS/Documents/MAP_ShootingRange.pdf Being a public range the earlier we get there the better. I plan on rolling in and getting set up as soon as they open at 9am on Saturday.

Wha choo talkin' bout Willis? Thats a storm trooper if I ever saw one. A mighty small one given the size of the branches up there.
-
The reason I say "he" is that there was a dark dot on his head above each eye. They don't show up in the photo but watching him I could easily see them. That area is crawling with white ones. They are protected and the gene for albinism is all through the local population.
-
Can you find him? On one of my stops today this herd was in the back yard. A natural where is Waldo?

I'm sure this one is somewhere else around here but here they are. Left to right: 16" Colt M4 20" 5.56 18" 308 18" Grendel 16" BLK 8" BLK w/supp. 12.7" Grendel Bottom: My son's 10.5" BLK

Hmmmm, my kids are 1/2 Norwegian (mom's side) does that count?

I don't know. 6' 6" My usual answer to "you're tall" is "no I'm not, the rest of the world is short". Or the other standard. "Hows the air up there?" "A hell of a lot better than down there"
-
The only ones I can get fairly reasonably in my size. Wranglers. 38X38 is a tad hard to come by.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Now we know the wife wasn't standing behind you when you wrote that. Or we'de be hearing about a domestic dispute involving a WI state trooper being beaten senseless by his wife. -
This is basically what I do with my Caldwell 7 rest. Rifle sits in the rest front and back. Touch the stock butt to my shoulder lightly and hold the pistol grip just tight enough to aim and squeeze the trigger. My off hand is resting on the front horizontal beam of the rest, not holding the handguard at all. When the shot goes off the recoil does whatever it does, I don't try to hold the rifle in place.

Considering I use my bow stands for sub hunting a shot over 30 yards would be rare. I wouldn't hesitate to stretch it to 50 if the right angle through the trees presented itself. The 40 yarder this year was just that situation. She walked past on my right side and went behind some trees and brush. I kept watching her and put the gun up when she started walking broadside to me. When her chest entered an opening between the branches I had the scope on her and pulled the trigger. When subs hit deer sides they sound like someone wearing leather mitts slapping their hands together. Thwack

Yup, most definitely. The flash can on the front will help some but these short 8" barrels and supersonic bullets are real boomers. Subs with a suppressor are another story. The shooter doesn't really know how loud the gun is because all you hear is the action slamming back and forth next to your ear. Its a clack rather than a bang. The best part is no one nearby even knows a gun went off. They may hear something but its not like anything they would relate to a gunshot.
