  1. It's too bad, I've got a feeling he would've fit in pretty well over here
  2. Cryptic claims a thickness of 2-3 microns for their coatings, but I'm not sure if that's their NiB or not, as they do a lot of other coatings, too. It seems like most NiB coatings are 10-12 microns thick minimum, and go up in the hundreds of microns thick. Between different coating processes and different methods of QC, I wouldn't be surprised if the NiB's too thick, making the bolt fit too tight in the chamber.
  3. I wish I could've met the guy. Whether they know it or not, this is the goal of every enabler here <lmao>
  4. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2015/07/23/mystery-grows-around-man-found-dead-in-car-near-home-with-large-cache-of-weapons/
  5. Aw schit, not another one....
  6. How are they still in business? They've had 20% off everything for the past week or two "for a limited time", that's saying something...
  7. Sweet build, Bule, PRI's definitely proud of their products w/the price tags I've seen, anyways. How many newborns did you have to sign over for that rail and handguard?
  8. I like those lead free 500gr Buffalo Bore loads, but they're so expensive, and also not on the site anymore. I don't have the cash to reload, though.
  9. I'mma go out on a limb and say it probably has issues with CMMG, but it seems like someone else mentioned problems between PSA lowers and some Geissele triggers....
  10. If it's a local shop you could ask the owner if you can bring your lower in, trigger and hammer removed, and see if it'll fit. If it's a drop in it'll probably take all of 30 seconds to see if the module will fit.
  11. Speaking of caseless, what ever happened with the LSAT?
  12. So, basically, you can hunt deer with a rifle as long as it's chambered in either a revolver round or a 150 year old buffalo load? That makes SO much sense....
  13. Welcome from Ga, you should check out uncle Pat's tech corner, specifically tech note 110, that might help you out
  14. If Marlin's a little too rich for your blood, go for a Rossi Rio Grande in .45-70. I believe it's actually lighter than the Marlins, too.
  15. Just checked the website, now they have a separate block for .308. It's slightly taller than the AR-15 block by .05", 1.43" tall compared to 1.38", but is under your 1.51" limit. http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPGS-8H
  16. If that's STILL too tall (which I doubt it is) the new design from JP is even slimmer than that. Only place I've seen it is their website.
  17. Tom requested it be moved, nicer than normal, too <lmao> It seems like the newer lowers have both rear and bottom rear-takedown-pin-detent ports drilled, maybe separate generation designs emerging? Trailblazers, indeed!
  18. I second that motion! With all the Matrix builds popping up lately, this community's probably got more experience with them than anyone (short of Chris, of course).

    Disturbed.

Looks like high school all over again in here <lmao>
  20. Sweet, just noticed that! That should be one of the forum milestones, like 100, 500, etc.
  21. If you're gonna wait that long, just get one from Black Hole Weaponry, they only have a 6-12 week lead time and they'll cut your 416r stainless barrel to your specs. Decent prices, too
  22. There are actually several threads here, as well as on many other forums, that are full of problems people had with that trigger specifically, on dozens of different platforms.
  23. I was just thinking that reminded me of Brian's rear oil port mod <lmao>
  24. I guess if it can disperse the force over a wide enough area it would be like getting hit with a medicine ball at 50 mph. Define "survivable"
  25. You know what, just for y'all, I'mma get a tube and reassemble a couple AR's with both. I'll let you know how it looks in 20 years <lmao> Thanks for the explanation, Wash, that actually makes sense. I might have to try some out now.
