Damn, Wash, what class did you run that let you spray? I'm surprised that thing didn't flip a couple times on ya. I LOVE jet boat racing. The worst thing they could've done was getting rid of Speed, I was heartbroken when I lost OTE....

The receiver extension thread area on the Tnarms lower looks funky as hell, is it just clear polymer or is the gap at the bottom of the threads really there? Anyways, if you need a DPMS pattern upper and don't need a forward assist, Ares Armor is selling high rail height slick side stripped uppers for $57.50 through Father's Day. You'll need to get a handguard that matches the rail height on the upper, but a lot of companies nowadays have stuff that'll work. Ares upper is here: http://aresarmor.com/store/Item/Upper_Slickside_AR10_Rail

I was wondering when they were gonna move that schit. That solves one issue, anyways. Hey taff, he sent you a lpk, too, right? What does the bolt catch look like? Can you post some pics? BTW, seems like that captive detent in the fcg pocket keeps tension on the rear takedown pin, but it definitely keeps the fit between the receivers tight and play to a minimum.

I know Mac, that was just the quickest reference I could find at 5am. We have all used it at one point

This year's been especially hot in Ga, too. Sorry for the train wreck, BTW :)

If you want to go Armalite for the barrel nut, anyways, you can get a Matrix Aero stripped upper here for $88+ shipping: http://www.chandlerhardwoods.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=37600

I'm not arguing for or against it with this, this is just a direct quote from Wikipedia: Modern ATF typically contains a wide variety of chemical compounds intended to provide the required properties of a particular ATF specification. Most ATFs contain some combination of additives that improve lubricating qualities,[2][3][4] such as anti-wear additives, rust and corrosion inhibitors, detergents, dispersants and surfactants (which protect and clean metal surfaces); kinematic viscosity and viscosity index improvers and modifiers, seal swell additives and agents (which extend the rotational speed range and temperature range of the additives' application); anti-foam additives and anti-oxidation compounds to inhibit oxidation and "boil-off"[5] (which extends the life of the additives' application); cold-flow improvers, high-temperature thickeners, gasket conditioners, pour point depressant and petroleum dye. All ATFs contain friction modifiers, except for those ATFs specified for some Ford transmissions and the John Deere J-21A specification;[6] the Ford ESP (or ESW) - M2C-33 F specification Type F ATF (Ford-O-Matic) and Ford ESP (or ESW) - M2C-33 G specification Type G ATF (1980s Ford Europe and Japan)[7] specifically excludes the addition of friction modifiers.[8] According to the same leading oil distributor, the M2C-33 G specification requires fluids which provide improved shear resistance and oxidation protection, better low-temperature fluidity, better EP (extreme pressure) properties and additional seal tests over and above M2C-33 F quality fluids. There are many specifications for ATF, such as the DEXRON and MERCON series, and the vehicle manufacturer will identify the ATF specification appropriate for each vehicle. The vehicle's owner's manual will typically list the ATF specification(s) that are recommended by the manufacturer. Automatic transmission fluids have many performance-enhancing chemicals added to the fluid to meet the demands of each transmission. Some ATF specifications are open to competing brands, such as the common DEXRON specification, where different manufacturers use different chemicals to meet the same performance specification. These products are sold under license from the OEM responsible for establishing the specification. Some vehicle manufacturers will require "genuine" or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ATF. Most ATF formulations are open 3rd party licensing, and certification by the automobile manufacturer. Current OEM formulations are made from synthetic base stocks. Each manufacturer has specific ATF requirements. Incorrect transmission fluid may result in transmission malfunction or severe damage.

I'm good on Fort Benning, it makes hell look like Alaska, and it's not even July yet. Forgot about that, 98, my bad

Right? Y'all come out to SE Georgia (or Cajun country), we'll show you some humid heat. It's almost 1a.m. over here. I just walked out on the porch, and it's 90°F and 80% humidity!

This thread is still alive? I didn't realize how unclear my OP was until I re-read it, sorry 'bout that, SS. That's along the lines of my thinking. That, and I've seen transmissions go 300k+ miles on factory trans fluid. You might have 50k psi on a rifle but the amount of friction in these rifles is nothing compared to years of running an engine/trans at high temps for long periods of time. I think it's type F I was thinking of, though, not regular atf.

I thought I posted this in sales, my bad. I got a better look at the upper when I got home, and I'm pretty sure it's a used upper. There is a little knick on the end of the barrel nut threads, but it should be easy to clean up. For $88 plus shipping it's still a pretty good deal.

I've seen more and more people jumping on the Matrix Aero bandwagon lately, and I bet at least a few of y'all are like me and want another upper for your Matrix lower. Well, I finally found someone selling the uppers by themselves, here: http://www.chandlerhardwoods.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=37600 Mine just came in, I'll post pictures when I get home. It's got a couple little Knicks, but I can't complain considering not only does it match my lower, but it's an Armalite pattern stripped upper for under $100! I just figured I'd let y'all know....

It happens, good to know we've got him on reserve, though.
-
Is he a member? If not you should so bring him on, open up our own tech notes section....
-
Also, no more complete or stripped lowers....
-
They might've removed the tech notes in preparation for the potential "clarification" (as they call it) of the ITAR. Glad I saved a copy already....
-
Tom's just quality control
-
Sweet, make sure to post lots of pics, I've always wanted an FAL....
-
Man, I need a laptop, because my phone won't read PDF files.... Keep 'em coming, BTW :)

That's some bullschit, how are you gonna run a custom shop in a post apocalyptic Australian desert? They already ain't got $hit out there, pre-apocalypse <lmao>
-
You mean there's no Dually Camaro?!?
-
So does it come assembled in one of those cut up lowers like in the picture?
-
Thank you, I was wondering if anyone would notice <lmao>
-
What about Ancient Aliens, that's history, right? <lmao>

Not that they gave up, but countries don't have to spend millions on proprietary mags when they can use the (probably) billion AK mags they've stockpiled over the last 50 years. I wonder if the Chinese/Russian drums will fit....
