  1. Couldn't figure out where else to put it. Should I have started a new thread? I thought some folks might be interested in the PTR price. To be honest, I don't really know what "projo" means anyway. If the moderators want to move what I posted to a more appropriate place it's fine with me.
  2. Never heard of their bolts until I came on to this site. Might need to check them out.
  3. DIG IT ... That is one impressive looking weapon. GREAT JOB !!! <thumbsup> <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  4. Honestly, I was told that LCJWholesale would have in excess of 100 by the end of the week. He says they are going FAST. I ordered the last 5 that he had. He called me late this afternoon after I sent a "Contact Us" message over the weekend. I could not talk long but he took my phone order. Now that I think of it I surely hope it was him ... LOL Another point ... he said he had run about 2500+ 7.62x39 rounds using the new J-mags through some Sig weapons and he said they ran flawless. Seemed to be an honest person. I hope this is motivational indeed. :)) www.lcjwholesalestore.com
  5. I remember Remington or somebody else used to market a small tube of black graphite grease. Don't exactly remember the title of the product but it worked great. Anyone maybe remember this, and if so has anyone seen it around lately?

When I was in the economy was so bad none of these jobs were available. People enlisted while taking anything they could get. I never saw ANY opportunities for stuff like this the whole 4 years I was in. Everybody was sticking with what they had just to have a job. Cross-training was extremely limited and you always had to agree to go in broad and open. I was never that stupid. Regarding this issue, the morale was low back then and from what I understand it hasn't changed. I once completed a survey in there right after I finally hit E-4. I can't remember exactly the question but I made the suggestion that ALL USAF personnel should be given SP augmentee training regardless of their primary AFSC, enlisted or commissioned. I also stated that before anyone went overseas they should be given Air Base Ground Defense training and should have to qualify. When the E-5(s) and above in our section found out I suggested that they asked me what was "wrong" me and why I would suggest such a thing ... ( ???) I told them if they liked getting shot at without being able to shoot back they needed some serious evaluation. When they asked why I declined to test for E-5 and/or re-enlist I reminded them of our previous conversations. Sadly I don't think they ever understood what I was talking about. IMHO ... every bit as sad as the corrupt E-7(s) that all voted way back when to do away with USAF Warrant Officer ranks in exchange for only 2 more higher NCO ranks (Senior and Chief). This was about as ridiculous as being unarmed and never firearms trained. Guess they were the same fools who went along with the ignorant idea of doing away with the 1505(s) ... ( ???) Idiots ... complete idiots.
  7. CDNN has the rail-topped PTR-91K on sale for $899.99 Bushmaster AR15(s) for $449 + some change
  8. And the rivers are most likely what's flowing all the way down here ... LOL !!!
  9. Thanks for the information and specifics. I'll keep that in mind. On another positive note ... I spoke with one of the Techs today over at LCJ Wholesale ... C-Products Defense NEW 28-round J-Mags are IN !!! He's already shipped some of them out. I bought the last 5 he had on hand today and he's expecting 100+ more in by the end of the week when they get back from the coating shop. He stated they have not had these very long at all and cannot keep them in. Drop them a line and get on the ordering. Had a long talk with him and he explained what they've done with reference to springs and the followers and why the 28 rounders and the Gen II 30 rounders are working out. He stated the 28 rounders have been very carefully engineered as opposed to mags in the past and these will fit in an M16 mag pouch, roughly being the same size as the 30-round 5.56 mags. He also stated the AR15 buffer and buffer spring should run just fine. He stated the only other thing that folks seem to be having problems with is they need a 7.62x39-specific bolt or at least the caliber-specific firing pin. Regardless ... I just thought I'd put that out there because I know some folks on here were waiting on these new mags. :))
  10. Gauges ordered. Got the go and no-go pair from Amazon, right @ $65.00. Ordered the field gauge from Midway for about $35.00 more. With this .308 I feel the need to get all 3. Now I got to figure out how to get the camera right.
  11. I'll check them out today. Sounds like a great price.
  12. Didn't say it was hard. Some gauges are preferred to others. While you're so faithfully at it ... Google me a chamber reamer or two just in case my barrel is too tight for the heavier rounds.
  13. Barrel for my carbine upper and gas tube came in today. I need some headspace gauges, both go and no-go and would also splurge on a field gauge too if one is available for .308 as with the AR15. Got any links or ideas for the gauges? I should have enough parts (and hopefully tools) by this weekend to get started but if not then I can at least do a mock-up but I don't plan on doing even that until I can figure out how to post some good photos on here.
  14. Howdy from the San Jacinto area. <thumbsup>

Y'all were lucky. The only "field training" I ever got was when we did Tac Evals which consisted of putting on your NBC suit, helmet and carrying your gas mask and canteen around for 72 hours once every 90 days. We were not allowed in POL to be security augmentees because our war-time AFSC was the same as our peace-time AFSC. I did my 4 years honorable and got out. Not one time since have I ever allowed myself to be put in a position of any kind where I was wearing somebody's uniform while unarmed.

You aint kidding. I was in from 82 - 86 and all I got to shoot was once with the RNLAF shooting Uzi(s). Squirrely damn weapons, but a hell of a lot of fun. Other than that I spent my entire 4 years in with my weapons card stamped "Orientation only - Individual not qualified to bear arms". One of the main reasons I did my 4 years and left. We had 1 day of dry fire and one day of wet fire shooting the M16A1 with the .22 rimfire adapter in BMT. Absolutely ridiculous.
  18. By all means ... Congrats on the twins ... <thumbsup>
  19. Makes 2 of us. <dontknow>
  20. Good buy in the YHM sights. Very good price. <thumbsup>
  21. Good idea. Never thought about getting a UPS account number. Might make life a bit easier with other things I plan to do in the future. <thumbsup>
  22. Anyone got any suggestions on what make of ammo I should first fire through a new 16" barrel and what bullet weights I should do the initial 100-yd. initial sighting in with ... ??? Although the weapon is far from finished I'm trying to take advantage of the ammo sales going on now. THANKS !!!
  23. www.cmcgov.com They got a good mag sale that ends today. They are in Dallas if anyone is not familiar with them. Just ordered my Magpul 25 rd. mags from them. With state sales tax and UPS shipping to my door it's $112.00 and some change for 5 of the black mags. Several other mags are on sale, to include Glock mags, etc., Again ... they advertise this sale ends today.
  24. I have to agree that both look great but the Longhunter lakes the field on this one. Price is very reasonable for such items that are quality made these days.
  25. Nice ... please keep us updated. <thumbsup>
