  1. Welcome from Gulf Coast Texas !!!
  2. "I would have the A2 sight gas block milled" +1 ... to add to this you can also have whoever is doing the milling also knurl the back side of the sight (I mean the part that faces you when you're sighting down the barrel) to help reduce glare. This seem to be getting popular these days.
  3. I cannot stand to use FEDEX for anything unless it is absolutely necessary. I think they are clowns pretty much throughout the entire state of Texas. They've become very unprofessional/unreliable and arrogant with regards to customer service. I haven't been able to trust them for years. My list of complaints with them is endless. The USPS here has a game of pursuing their own agenda. In that past couple of years, every time I order a gun part and it is shipped via the USPS it seems the package has been opened or the outside colored plastic has been scratched so somebody can see through the bubble wrap and figure out what's inside. I just received a package from MidwayUSA that way today. They also have a habit of using "discretion" and will on their own require a signature for a package when they seem to suspect that gun parts are being shipped. They have done this even when I've ordered something and specifically requested it to be shipped without requiring a signature. I've had good luck with UPS here lately. I'm glad you posted the information about the DPMS high vs. low rail. I never even heard of this and I am trying to figure out what my final configuration will be. I want to use the traditional A2 front sight post with a Magpul hand guard but I don't know if this is possible, nor I currently have no clue what barrel nut I will need for that specific configuration. Hope your barrel gets to you soon.
  4. WOW ... Glad I saw this thread on here. I was considering one of these barrels.
  5. Bob ... has your Faxon barrel arrived yet ... ???
  6. Folks ... YODA is good-to-go. Very helpful and the smoothest of transactions. Fast and safe shipping. THANKS !!! <thumbsup>
  7. Thanks ... I'll post there also.
  8. Package arrived today. Thank you for an ultra-smooth transaction and your assistance.

I thought you might have been talking about the Bayou Rifles or some club with a similar name that was out west off I-10 somewhere. You ever been to that place out your way? I checked them out with your link but they did not say what the max distance is for the rifle range.
  10. What I would do is after I pulled the parts out of the cleaner I would soak them in a solution of Simple Green and regular tap water (warm or hot water is preferred), then sub them a bit with a rag them blow them off with air after you rinse them again in regular tap water. Start all over again with your lube.
  11. i've always liked Break-free.
  12. I use the plastic punch and a very, very light hammer and just take my time tapping it in. Same with the Trigger guard. I do use a small punch as a guide.

Could you PM me with further information please? I'm east of Houston and there is no long distance range here beyond 100 yards.
  14. Heads-up folks ... Just got word that some Spike's Tactical .308 Lower Parts Kits are in at Primary Arms. Spike's Tactical .308 Lower Receiver Parts Kit www.primaryarms.com
  15. Welcome from Gulf Coast Texas :))
  16. Welcome from Gulf Coast Texas - San Jacinto area. <thumbsup>
  17. e-mail: txlongrifle@aol.com please
  18. Got to look for one of these at the next gun show.
  19. What's left of the $30.00 "MISC PARTS" ? I see there are 2 reticle type for that scope. Which one is your's? Is the scope caliber-specific for the .308? THANKS !!!
  20. Is the offset scope mount offset to the left or right, or is it simply a riser?
  21. hhhhmmmmmmm .... (thinking) .... ^-^
  22. ROFL ... I found them. I don't know how I missed them before. I notice they also sell a 7.62x39 BCG. I need one of these too. Thanks for the assistance :))
  23. Went on to AIM's site. They did not show any BCG(s) for .308 at all. <dontknow>
  24. Thank you I will check them out (AIM surplus). I'm glad Faxon has that type of guarantee. I need to get the .308 headspace gauges along with all the other tools as soon as I decide on a barrel. Thanks again for the assistance. The next two websites I'm going in to are the sites you've recently mentioned. By the way ... just got back from the FFL. My receiver set came in. I'm impressed to say the least at first sight. Everything appears to be within specs. The lower came with the bolt catch and mag release installed but the pivot pins were enclosed in the box in a separate package. The upper came with the forward assist and the dust cover installed. My serial number ends in 288.
