  4. I'd like to know what a civilian ship was carrying to go up like that. Like blue said, it was a big kaboom!

    Big Trouble

Look in the North Carolina Armslist. There is a M1A1 in there that is National Match everything for considerably less money. Thought I'd just help ya out a bit.
  9. What brand of ammo was it sketch?
  10. Right up until the canoe accident he did.
  11. And a welcome wave from North Carolina! I'm going the easy route. Just build different uppers in the caliber you want. Two take down pins and you just went from a LR-308 with a 16" barrel to a 6.5 and 22" barrel in less time than a good sneeze takes. A 7mm-08 is on my short list.
  12. Dayum that was one tough/lucky SOB right there!
  13. Awesome lol!
  14. Wavin from North Carolina.
  15. And a warm wave from North Carolina!
  16. Are you referring to "mil-spec" with this? Because there is no such thing as "mil-spec" with a 308-AR. One of our beloved rifles nuances, that I love so well.
  17. I like it......a LOT!
  18. Chevy does make two different Camaros. You have the run of the mill Camaro and then you have the "hold on tite" SS. lol I always liked metal magazines until I forgot about all of my old IPSC .45 magazines in a box out in the garage. I ran across them one day only to find them covered in rust. Bummed me out big time. And I do have a mix of both for my LR-308. All the ammo and magazines are now stored in the house. I still haven't got an answer as to why they never released the M118 magazine in a twenty round version. Even the Magpul rep at a local gun show have an answer. Shane
  19. The standard PMAG 3 came out before the XM118 ammo was released to the civilian/military market IIRK. So PMAG released the M118 so those big ole nasty 175 grain bullets would fit. Note that they don't make a 20 round M118 magazine. The M118, I would think, was geared towards LE and military for the extra round capacity. And from what I have read I see no inherent weakness in the M118 magazine. Especially since it appears to be geared for the LE and military markets. Note the difference in the forward corner shapes of the two magazines. I wouldn't worry about the M118 being weak. They have been battle tested. PMAG 25 SR/LR Gen M3 PMAG 25 M118 SR/LR GEN M3
  20. If the GBW has not rooted itself to deep into his cranium there is hope. The following IV treatment of the antidote HKSSW, (Heckler Koch, Sig Sauer, Walther) followed up with a 5000 round regiment of HSTJHP, (Federal Premium Tactical HST Ammo) and we might bring him back from the dark side.
  21. Glock Brain Worm. OMG I am so using that on a friend of mine. No known cure for the GBW at this time!
  22. I have a DPMS LR-308 oracle and use the 20 round Pmag LR/SR M3 magazines. I have no issues with them at all. I like the 20 round mags as one box of ammo fills the mag. 20 plus one in the chambered can do some serious damage real quick. I believe the PMAG M118 is for the XM118 175 grain long range ammo as the over all length is a little more. I can't speak to the interchangeability thou. I buy mine at a local gun store for 19 bucks. Hope this help. Shane
  23. Steve, Where in SC are you? I have an offer for you. I live in Monroe NC and work in Rock Hill SC. I'm more than willing to let you try my DPMS upper on your lower to see how tight it will group. It would sure let you know how well the DPMS 16" HBAR barrel will group rounds. Bring your bore scope and lets compared the finish in the bores side by side. I have a friend in Lancaster SC that lets me shoot in his back yard. We have a 55 yard range setup with railroad ties as a back stop and steel plate targets on it. We do have access to a 300 yard range, not far from his house, but we don't have the target stands finished yet. Let me know if your interested. It would be great to meet a fellow brother from the board. Between the two of us, let see if maybe we can save you some time, money and aggravation in the process. Shane
  24. Doesn't DPMS make this rifle for Remington? I ask this as my LR-308 Oracle is a MOA tack driver for a 16" bull barrel. I have never scoped my barrel, but after break in, the lands and grooves look smooth as glass on mine. Where are you located captain23steve?
  25. I like what I have seen on sgammo. I always try to support a small family owned business. Where to get it is easy enough, what brand of surplus type ammo is a whole nuther ball of wax. I might just buy five or six boxes of the different brands and do an accuracy test. I have to do this quick, as I don't want to wait until the anticipated price gouging starts, right before the election.
