  1. Power to the confusers of the sheeple. To continue their confused conundrums, I'd call it an LR7/08 and know what parts I needed for it. It'd be a shooter! The rest of the comments & pics in this thread are awesome too.
  2. Condolences re:PRK, Chris. It's better here (in the forum). But you could always move to Texas. More room here and we can open carry
  3. I wish the best for you and yours. Louisiana folk sure know how to cook, yessir
  4. Thank you and yes I agree it is a great forum. I hope all our time here is long, trouble-free and prosperous.
  5. Thank you brother. Best regards

    Good advice
  7. Thanks for the tip, mineralman. Just fyi to anyone thinking of grabbing one for the astounding price of $144, I can account for SA being down one count on their 18" GT-profile Ballistic Advantage barrel inventory.
  8. Crap that's a good price. Might have to rethink my leaning toward the Bartlein and give the SA a try.
  9. Sweet. I hope I can see it one day too
  10. Aren't the take-down pins made tight on purpose, so they'll hold a good fit after being worked and lubed a few times? I think I've heard that from several of the receiver mfgr's
  11. Another Texas welcome to you.
  12. She's a beautiful beast. Good to see her taken care of like that too.
  13. Just for giggles I'm going to co-share this one by pulling it out of the Platform Mfgr's dungeons and put it here too. Let the war begin! Not long ago I was on the other side of the fence, where I didn't think the FA was good for much except magnifying a jam problem. But now I've been redeemed to the good side, where we value the FA for it's clandestine noise-reducing capabilities, for when you don't want to alert everyone that you're chambering a round with the unrestrained release of the charging handle slamming the bolt down to seat on the cartridge. No no no, to those who scoff at the mighty FA, we might need to quietly, gently, release tension on the charging handle and then just as quietly palm the FA to seat the bolt on that live little darlin' we have nestled in the chamber of the barrel. Come back to the good side. Love the FA and she will take care of you when needed. Hahalololrotflao it's been a long day and I need a beer!

  15. Thanks Dane Armory, love the profile pic btw
  16. Oh brother, why am I recalling the humorously evil grin on the face of the salesman in the Isuzu commercials? haha
  17. Suhweeet! except for the toe-jam <see Cowboy pic above> haha
  18. I've since obtained a couple LPK's but just had to share DPMS's woeful parts supply debacle aka extreme shortage by sharing that I recently obtained a factory DPMS LR308 LPK BAAAAAWWWWAHHHH MC Hammer can't touch this lol Speaking of music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3khH9ih2XJg
  19. Thank you and fyi I have nothing but respect for you sir. You are the Great Generation and I admire the things you have accomplished for us. When I was a kid I used to go to all the local libraries looking for books about WW2, reading about the things the guys were going through on the inroads to Japan & Germany, in place like Guadacanal, the Solomon Islands or Iwo Jima, France, Normandy and all the rest. I was born into a time of no conflict requiring my assistance but I have a long-standing respect for those who were not so lucky.

I have the steel SI low block http://www.strikeindustries.com/shop/index.php/products/rifle-accessories/ar/gas-blocks-stubes/si-ar-steel-gas-block.html seems to do ok/no malfunctions so far

Yes, I was only thinking of the high-temp area at the gas-block for this application. Don't know how hot it gets there, just that it's one of the hottest areas on the weapon.
  22. My intro to the Navy SEAL fellas (I am NOT one myself) at Redstone included one of those, with a jar of IcyHot free gratis. I don't recommend it.

Oh yeah, since threadlocker has been mentioned in the thread...what kind is best? I found hi-temp Loctite in 300, 350 & 400 degree formulas at the auto-parts stores and I have some 2000 degree Rocksett Engineering Adhesive (which I am really hesitant to use on a tiny allen set-screw).
  24. I keep mine in the freezer. I should be at work but I'm stuck home waiting for UPS because an ammo shipper tagged the delivery as "Signature Required" Putzes, that's the only ammo shipment I've ever had to sign for.
  25. Only if ya give me 3 shots of tequilla first darlin haha
