    NEW BUILD

Ok this build is taking shape slowly. I found out about this barrel just poking around on Faxon's site. Its only 1.37lbs compared to 1.19lbs for a true pencil barrel. Its actually lighter then some other brand barrel manufacturers in a pencil profile. I know im trying to save weight but i decided to go with this. This is a badass barrel. Thanks 98 http://faxonfirearms.com/16-gunner-5-56-nato-mid-length-4150-qpq/
  7. I have a Wheeler green laser magnetic bore sighter. It also comes with a highly reflective 12"x12" graph to be easily seen in daytime. Use it for every new sight i mount. It goes on the end of your muzzle not inside bore. Works great unless you forget and buy a SS muzzle break LOL. Its only to get me on paper, thats all most bore sight companies say anyway. I still fine tune my optic the old fashion way once on paper. You can waste a lot of ammo sighting in a new optic......
  8. Walth i recently had a bad shoot day. I have a BHW 1/11 twist match barrel on my lr308 build. I shot some of the same ammo you did. I was shooting in horrible conditions plus shaking like leaf. Im going out to shoot again. It was probably just an off day like i had
  9. Good point more money current build im doing.
  10. Yea it could have definitely been worse. Everything I shot today was match grade ammo except the PMC 147grs gold. This build has quite a bit of recoil and its not a light gun at all. My spent casings are landing about 7 to 10 feet away. I think a SLR adjustable gas block is in order and maybe a different brake...
  11. Ok gents. Finally got to hit the range today in a really long time ( more then 3 weeks and im withdrawing). So it was horrible shooting today. Definitely not the gun,my groups where complete crap! Extremely windy and i was shaking like a leaf. Shot off my bi-pod. Should have shot off my bag. I like to shoot more of real world situations. Dont use lead sleds. But this what i have to show for. Outer targets were at 100 yards center target was at 50 yards to sight in a scope I took off my other AR. Still waiting on scope from PA! The gun now has a little over 70 rounds thru her. Definitely shot some decent ammo and some crap ammo thru her. As of now there is no problems what so ever. Not even a hiccup . Now its time to get some serious range time in
  12. Laughing so hard im crying reading this thread!!! you guys are too much
  13. Wow this thread really went to crap!! I dont think the torque is that serious. I sure it has to be pretty close. Like SurvivalShop said he hasnt you a torque wrench in a very long time. I would think the little hardware is more crucial when it comes to torque cause its soo easily over torque a lot.
  14. Casey, dont mean to offend you but center point scope is low buck junk. You can buy these scopes at Wal-Mart. They are very low quality . I would not expect a scope of this quality to hold a zero or even have accurate adjustments. I personally would start over with a better optic and mount before suspecting a gun problem. Just my 2 cents
  15. Shepp. PA makes some awesome stuff right? My neighbor has the PA 4-14x44 308 hud dmr scope acss reticle and a buddy has PA 3x prism scope acss reticle. I have personally shot both of them. They are worth every penny from PA. Im waiting on the PA 6-24x50 308 hud dmr scope now
  16. http://www.grandviewoutdoors.com/predator-hunting/hogs/bowhunting-hogs-with-the-300-blk/ Bates sorry for jacking your post, got a little off topic. This is a great article on hunting hogs with 300BLK Out

  19. Not sure. I seen this gun before. I know they are not the only ones that make a 300wm AR
  20. Yea but that 300wm AR looks dam nice!!!

  22. Bates sounds like be a good candidate for 300blk out. Good out to 200 yards and has serious knock down power. My buddy has a 16 inch 300blk out. Very fun to shoot. Ammo is much easier to get now and you can run standard ar15 mags. Recoil is not bad at all little bit more then 223.
  23. All depends what style hunting you do. Are you sitting in a blind? Are you driving them with dogs? What ranges are you taking shots from? All this is going to play into your build. I personally would build a flexible hunting rifle knowing I could set up in a blind with a bi pod or bag and still be able to drive them. So I would want something light, probably stick with a 16" or 18" barrel to keep the weight down.
  24. So true
