  1. https://www.andersonrifles.com/ I got a buddy with one, says he hasn't had any problems with it functioning. I contacted them though about their treatment to see if it protects against moisture that causes rust, they never gave me a straight answer. Considering I am surrounded by swamp land and it is often very humid, rust is a big deal for me. So still would have to keep it somewhat lubed anyways, even in storage to keep it from rusting. But might work for you if you are interested.

I'm a shoot first, ask questions later type of guy. lol.

double taps and speed shooting is cool and all, and if you do it correctly with practice as jtallen pointed out, you can have proper form and good control. what I was pointing out is it will effect muscle memory of shooting longer distances if you do not train both, so you use double the rounds to get that muscle memory for both types of shooting. and something else I was pointing out is one accurate round will give you plenty of time to send another accurate one down range same as if you were shooting at longer distances. the third thing I pointed out, is that most people don't train enough, so at least 99% of people that were to use this would probably not have proper trigger control or that muscle memory. I wasn't trying to downplay professional shooters like Jerry, but lets face it, he's a professional that practices a lot. This is strictly range stuff for fun in my opinion. when it comes to actually having to use one of these weapons, you aren't going to probably be 10 yards away and you probably are gonna take cover. If a fun range toy is what you want, by all means go for it. but practicality beyond getting a woody from the smell gun powder and filling a target full of holes is none in my eyes.

double taps only work for close engagements, proper trigger control and follow through work at all distances and is more accurate. slapping a quick second round is just asking to screw up your muscle memory and with it, your form. Train to make the first round count. ;)

why do you need to double tap? hit them with the first round with even just a spitwad and you will have plenty of time to take an accurate shot with good form like the first should be.

I see that teaching people horrible trigger control though as most people will just be slapping the trigger as fast as they can.
  8. well the population is so high that collateral damage isn't worth the chase, so there is a no pursuit policy. would hate for an innocent to get killed because you were in a pursuit because someone didn't pull over on a normal traffic stop for speed or running a stop sign.
  9. what some of the guys are saying about shooting at shorter ranges for a law enforcement capacity is very true. You aren't gonna get approval to take the shot at 600 yards. I think the scope you got will be plenty good for any range you will be operating in a law enforcement capacity. You aren't gonna need a mildot reticle unless you are a military sniper or long range shooter and though I am a fan of first focal plane because I like to shoot long distances, I use plenty of second focal plane scopes and they will work fine for the distance you will be shooting. heck, I could shoot my 5.56 patrol rifle with iron sights between the eyes at 100 yards.
  10. Milwaukee acts like its own state, expect when there are riots and they need our help.
  11. lol. really fast farm tractors
  12. plenty of deer around here, just different terrain than I am used to hunting. I usually shoot 100-300 yards, where I am hunting now I will be lucky to get a 50 yard shot. shepp, no name on the scope, it is in witness protection, so it is keeping a low profile. lol.
  13. shepp, those are the old Harley's that you posted, the newer ones are a lot nicer. but you know weather in Wisconsin, that's why I am not sure if I want to be a motor cop. robo, most of what I do is traffic enforcement, drug interdiction, and crashes unless the county needs backup or have their hands busy elsewhere, which does happen a lot in my county. it's nice not having to go to noise complaints and stuff like that. We have a lot more freedom choosing how we want to spend our enforcement time.
  14. nice. I thought about being a motor cop, but idk. maybe someday.
  15. we all know posting boobs is Mikedaddy's job
  16. lol. I know. I was having to much fun. I don't get to shoot as much as I like, so I figured why not. plus the rifle probably has only had 52 rounds through it in its life, so the barrel was hungry. :P worth buying new, no, but worth buying used for a good price, I would say so since it isn't a horrible rifle.
  17. 2 separate 3 round groups with the 180 grains. So as you can see in the pictures, the 150s are more accurate. Less recoil was also noticeable with the 150s which was nice since I broke my collar bone a couple of years ago. Some of the polymer tips on them were not to the quality of hornadys I have shot in the past, but also almost half the price I paid here. Even with the polymer tips, the Remington 770 still had feeding issues, I did find that having 3 rounds in the mag instead of the 4 it can hold did cut down on the issues. Scope was ok, didn't seem consistent with adjustments, but seems to do the job considering it is a package deal. Trigger on the rifle was heavy and felt gritty, probably the biggest problem I had with the rifle because I can get over the feeding issues with a little time and patience but nothing I could do about the trigger. As far as accuracy, I would say it is pretty respectable for a cheap hunting rifle. Though I only shot at 50 yards, I think I could get it to shoot 1.5 moa at 100 yards from a bench with a rest. All in all, it will kill deer. now we will just have to wait and see how the bullets perform upon impact. ;)
  18. So I got a little time to shoot today but got in a little rush at the end. So here it is... Conditions: 60 degrees F 53% humidity 10 mph winds Sunny 1pm-1:30pm Range: 50 yards, wish I could have shot 100 or farther but no connections up here yet really. Shooting in the prone with Harris bipod. Shot what I had left of the Winchester Super X 180 grain power-points I got from my father in law. Then 12 rounds of the new Winchester Deer Season XP 150 grain extreme points. 6 rounds of the new 150 grains at 50 yards 12 rounds of the 150s, was rushing the last 6 since I am running late for getting ready for work right now. haha.
  19. I may have had scopes that far off before. haha. and does a thread ever stay on track around here?... oh look boobs!
  20. Welcome from central wisconsin
  21. welcome from central Wisconsin!
  22. haha. nice. mine is a clean top, so at night I get a lot back in my car, makes me feel like I'm at a rave all night long.
  23. I looked at that, for that price I might as well get the Nikon though I think. lol. we will see. been so busy I haven't had time for anything but work the last couple of weeks.
  24. I usually like 3-9 magnification but I'm willing to work with less for squirrels. I was looking at those Nikons above... my wife said I could buy whatever I wanted, but it would take away from my AR-10 funds she set aside for me this Christmas. Needless to say, the AR-10 won out on the glass for a squirrel gun. so probably will end up with a cheap Walmart scope... God that sounds like a sin to even say, but oh well.
  25. well they came, they look a lot nicer than the soft points. will see if I can shoot some of them sunday or some other time in the week and let you guys know how they do.
