  1. Beautiful, what you going to use that beast for?
  2. .308 ARs aren't as standardized as AR-15s, but they are standard enough that you can get the parts you need usually with no problem as long as you know the variation of .308 AR you have.
  3. Maybe I'm just that much of a crappy shot, but I feel that most people here build guns at a higher quality that creates accuracy already better than I can even shoot. If it turns out that it really does help with accuracy, I am all for it, but would need some good testing I think.
  4. Beautiful rifle
  5. Can't go wrong with JP if you can afford it. lol. There are other companies out there that offer side charging handles, just watch out of low quality materials that some have. might be something you could look at. https://www.fd-defense.com/products/fd308/ Not sure if these guys sell uppers but their rifles look sexy. Other than that, all I can think of is plenty with right side charging handles but I never liked those.
  6. What's the details on the rifle and scope?
  7. I went through a phase where I was crazy about side charging handles. lets face it, it is a lot easier to charge the weapon with a side charging handle, especially when the weapon is up to your shoulder. then I realized, how often do I really charge my AR's? when I am deploying my weapon to be used it is good to go before it is even up to my shoulder and the target is in my sights, so really a side charging handle isn't needed. during a reload, bolt is already back so just have to insert new mag and push bolt release. as for malfunctions, yeah this could be good if you have a malfunction, but I have never even had a malfunction with my duty rifle and very rarely with any of the other rifles I have had. so basically I just see the side charging handle is something that looks cool but is just another part that can break or malfunction. not to mention it is another area to collect dirt.
  8. I think it is safe to say that we all pretty much know that Taurus doesn't have the best reputation, but every now and then I hear of a Taurus pistol that blows an experienced shooter away. so I believe that once in a while you may get a cheap gem from them, but it isn't worth taking the gamble unless you shoot it before you buy it.
  9. most bolt actions are, I mean a semi-auto kinda like an AR in bullpup
  10. I always thought that if someone were to build a rifle in bullpup configuration that could be personalized as much as an AR, it might because the next big thing in the firearm industry.
  11. up until july, I lived in Janesville the past two years. grew up in Clinton area.
  12. yeah very cool. I have always liked bullpup configurations, but most fall short in materials used and TRIGGERS. I have always wanted one of these though... https://deserttech.com/product_overview.php?product_id=2&load=product_overview
  13. Lol. always nice to see people being up front about who they are. welcome from Wisconsin. there are several people here that have built lightweight builds here and can offer a lot of help in that area.
  14. yeah, might have to get a Mora Robust for myself at that price. already told the wife I wanted it. lol.
  15. wow, this maybe the best "ak" I have seen. how does it shoot?
  16. I wanted a sandwich!
  17. lol. you guys are to much, I've missed you all. been so busy lately. I just hope aero starts getting their parts in stock. driving me nuts, every time I have money, not in stock!
  18. How you keep a wife in the kitchen. (look closely at the oven handle) I may have gotten drunk and handcuffed my wife to the stove... tried handcuffing her to me, didn't get lucky so I figured this was second choice.
  19. 300 blackout for me also... and I would just take rounds from 98 that he loaded using 5.56 brass. :P
  20. well hopefully by Monday I will know if I can buy a house even closer to the dells with 20 wooded acres. :)
  21. @ARTrooper have you ever been up to the hardwood bombing range by nahcoosa? When I was working in blackriver falls the boss took us there. guess it was a lot cooler in the 70's/80's he'd take a cooler of beer out and watch them blow poop up. When we when they were doing some live fire stuff it was pretty cool. Haven't seen a ch-47 around here in awhile my house guts buzzed by the Blackhawks outta Madison once and awhile the other night they flew over super low. Been seeing more c17's too that's a big MF!! nope, haven't been up there shepp. maybe I will look into it. I always love a good boom
  22. Welcome from central Wisconsin!
  23. my house and interstate is right in the pathway of where F-15s, ch-47s, blackhawks, and c-130s. I love it, reminds me of the good old days.
  24. I only sleep with my wife, so if I get an STD from her... so a well groomed field is always best to play on. and I think whoever said it was a numbers thing is right, there is no real way I can think of that they could test this and more and more women are going bare down there.
  25. yeah I think you are right shepp, I like to consider myself more west than central though because I don't like Madison. lol.
