  5. Welcome to the forum Brandon
  6. I ended with the DPMS due to two main reason, 'parts supply' and 'cost'. With the AR10, you're stuck mainly with Armalite supplier only and the cost was higher. With the DPMS, parts are developed and sold by more after market suppliers, quality material and the cost is less. There are many videos and write-ups of this on the web from people jumping into the early in the game.
  7. And a Welcome from Tennessee
  8. At the age these kids are "watched" this, I was on my grandfathers farm "helping him do it". If not, there were empty plates on the dinner table that night. It's a shame they are so pampered in their lives they don't know reality. I believe people like this need to spend a month on a farm and if they don't want this to happen, so be it, but their daily meals depend on it. And I can't believe what they can buy now ... meals that only need to be preheated and served ? Soon it will be a crime if you prepare the meals below a set politically correct standards.

  10. Hope you have something of her for your family history. Still have stuff from my fathers ship time in WW2. Plus my time in Nam. The grandkids have it now. I was surprised they cherish them. Thanks for your service brother.

  13. Well from the count I have, just 11 MORE DAYS UNTIL HE'S GONE ...... but who's counting ?
  14. To answer the original question, I had a heck of a time thinking about it. All I can say is the reason I ended up getting the 308AR, it was a natural. The first firearm my father introduced me to was a .38 snub nose, then when I was 15, he brought out his .357. Somewhere between those two, my Grandfather handed me his 30-06 and we went to his fields for some target practice. Somewhere about then I was introduced to my fathers 12 and uncles 20 gauge shotguns. As a kid at that time, I don't remember knowing anyone owning anything smaller than a 30-30 lever action. Hell, that was on the short side of 5 decades ago.
  15. I've been in Mandan, ND, and something like Pueblo, Co should feel warmer for you in the winter time. In fact, Flagstaff, Az should feel warmer in the dead of winter. Those 5 days ther was like living in a walk in freezer. It was already mentioned there are many Liberals there, and I know they have gun lovers also, but I'd check the laws first. I came from a Liberal controlled state, and now it feels like the chock chain was removed.

  18. I have a '80 Harley WideGlide. She'd be considerd, what, 37 years old this year. Guess I've had her for a while.
  19. As a kid I had an old 30-06 before I went in, then the M16A1 was a pee shooter to me. But the .45 acp was a natural. Then when I got the Hog, it was a natural combo. Since out, the .308 (or the 30-06) was like I said comfort food. As for concealed carry, ended up with a micro 9mm for summer carry because I couldn't find a holster that didn't print so big in a tank top, and a .45 acp for the winter with long sleeves, and that feels better. But at the range, with this new rifle, it's like having a mistress with me ... the adrenaline just flows.
  20. Welcome to the forum ShooterScott. Feels good not being the only new guy for yesterday.
  21. Isn't it only the president the only one to hand this out ? You think he'd wait and asked Trump to hand him one ? Come On !!!!!!!! This was faster and he had control of his lackies !
  22. What I don't understand is why so many hasn't read history. I believe somewhere around 700 AD this happened and started in roughly the same area, Saudi Arabia. They swung through North Africa and then up Portugal, Spain and into France, forcing the Muslin beliefs and Shria Laws. It was a soon to be King in France that seen what was happening and started to kick their rears out. History is repeating itself but in a faster version this time. (Planes, cars, electronics today verses Horses, foot traffic, passing of notes then) I understand the cartels helping them, possible profit, some power for now, but what happens to them if they win ? Shria law doesn't allow then totally in their beliefs. And no help from the Liberals being they need their blankees and safe zones ...
  23. I could be wrong, but thiis is the first time I've heard of one getting a medal, let along this one. But it doesn't shock its him getting it, from his hand pick lacky.
