  1. No more than 800 yards. Ideal situation would be urban overwatch. I have Eagle nest on my property and have a lot of 13 acres buffer zones ODNR doesn't want anyone close to those area's. We have a1,000 yard range local but I have no desire to go past 800
  2. Oh,and the local DNC had Michael Avenatti come speak last fall as a surprise speaker. $500, a plate dinner and people were getting up and leaving ,the head of our local DNC literally dropped dead the next day. Ironic
  3. I sat in on his town hall at a local tech college back in 2000. He bashed the unions to the point the kids in attendance were wondering WTF since the job fair had 99% union shops that hire from the college. Stark State College isn't a second rate school when it comes to learning. Well me being the jarhead I am I started asking labor history questions,I was escorted out of the building.
  4. What is it?
  5. The clarity is outstanding for any of their products. What I hate most is when people have a decent rifle and throw a $99 Chinese POS scope on it. I try to pay attention in class and my biggest pet peeves is quality barrel, trigger and glass. In my younger years I could do just about anything with iron sights on my M1A out to 500 yards. Now I'm trying to make life easier without overly complicating things. With that,I have mixed feelings about the scope I originally posted about. I'm starting to think less is more since I learned to do math the old fashioned way.
  6. The big win for us was this: "Placing the burden of disproving a self-defense claim on the prosecution, similar to how it is in every other state in the country."
  7. He could have passed all this last summer. But Noooooooo he was worried about the prosecutor's not having enough tools in the toolbox. As for the Shockwave,he had another BS reply," Why do citizens need such a thing"
  8. I told you what a GOOF our governor is, well we still have some common sense people still in office. As of today : Last week, the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate voted 67-22 and 21-11, respectively, to override Governor John Kasich’s veto of self-defense legislation, Sub. House Bill 228. Substitute House Bill 228 will now be enacted into law. Some of the important provisions in Sub. House Bill 228 are: Placing the burden of disproving a self-defense claim on the prosecution, similar to how it is in every other state in the country. Critical expansion of preemption to ensure that localities do not create a patchwork of gun laws throughout Ohio. Language updates to mirror federal law that affects certain types of firearms, such as the Mossberg Shockwave. Clarifies Ohio’s signage law in regards to concealed carry. These important changes simplify what has become a complicated portion of Ohio law.
  9. Well I have been wanting to do a Grendel and considering my go to company (Criterion) can not touch Wilson. I can't believe that there is almost a $200 difference, makes me feel guilty for not staying loyal. We'll know what I'm going to be up to.
  10. That pretty good.
  11. Ok, just misunderstood. I can say without a doubt,if we had better triggers in the late 70's early 80's there would have been a whole lot of less toilet seat wearing Marines in the crowd.
  12. Every 3 years, the cleanout prep is the worst.
  13. The barrel and trigger are going to be pretty important. Criterion Hybrid is a pretty good line. Read, read, read and read some more then buy once. Larue has a pretty nice trigger for $85, I don't own one but am going to get one to replace a RR National Match.
  14. I have stamps for everything, I also have them engraved with the name of our trust on them. Our Governor really is an anti- 2A GOOF. We had a guy that bought a couple and brought them back here, of all places he tried selling them on Armslist for 1k each. I'll let you use your imagination on how that worked out.
  15. This somehow reminds me of Frank and Sheila from Shameless. Hers was at least 18" and black,Frank took it pretty well.
  16. I am almost ready to buy one even if I don't ever build one those prices are cheap.
  17. I should have added that 5D is the jig they sell.
  18. And you cannot legally buy one ANYWHERE in Ohio.
  19. Sorry bro,it's not an opinion, you cannot own one in Ohio. He thumbed his nose at everything that is comming across his desk before he leaves office. The guy is a dick and can't be trusted. The first thing he did when he got elected was try to bust the teachers unions, he almost got lynched. Read up on his history,he's a royal GOOF.
  20. Well I'm here to tell you that Governor Kasich said there is no way in hell that he'll ever allow them to be legal. You can't buy one in Ohio from an FFL period. Buckeye Firearms is fighting it.
  21. I'm not a fan boy of any kind, but I do have Geissele SSA-E's in all but one gun. Geissele won't have a problem with profits, what you see in the market is a side business, they make their real money supporting our troops. Price wasn't factor in my purchase, there just wasn't anything that I liked at the time I built my stuff. As for the LaRue, I'm glad they offer a product to people where price is a concern. Back to that one gun that doesn't have a SSA-E in it, I think I may try this trigger out, for $85 it's really not a lot of money to spend. Believe me,I have a box of triggers I went through until I found what I liked. At least I got lucky and found Brimstone gunsmithing when I was in search of triggers for my 10/22's
  22. X2 I like the whole process of what you did. I started going through my father in law's guns, most were in pretty good shape considering they were from the 20's and 30's.
  23. Because of Ohio law, 2923.11(F) of the Ohio Revised Code provides: "(F) Sawed-off firearm means a shotgun with a barrel less than eighteen inches long, or a rifle with a barrel less than sixteen inches long, or a shotgun or rifle less than twenty-six inches long overall." Emphasis added. The Mossberg Shockwave has a barrel length of 14". Accordingly, with a barrel of less than 16" long, it is considered a "Sawed-off firearm" under Ohio Law. In Ohio, there is no barrel length exception, even with an overall length of 26” or greater. So how is it legal in some states? https://www.buckeyefirearms.org/mossberg-590-shockwave-legal-ohio We had a few people selling them on armslist, that got shut down real quick.
  24. Sucks that's it's illegal in Ohio
