    Is it normal for a white letter DOD stamp to be on the front of armalite's magwells. Mine has it, it's the older model that won't take the new mags. the handguard is also not interchangeable with most. the front is triangular like the old M-16's.

    I put a bushnell 3x12x40 on a couple of mine, they look good on one and are pretty clear. When I was sighting one in it fell off the table and landed on the scope. didn't knock it off. it may break tomorrow, who knows. right now I'm happy with them.

    Sorry so long to answer, but haven't been able too. but yes those are mine. most were purchased in the 80's when guns were not so expensive.
