  16. interesting I learned something. as a shotgunner I can tell you that the 209a federal primer is a hot one. Winchester or cheddite are not magnum primer
  17. never knew cases like that existed. where did you get those?
  18. that is the problem there is no mil spec on 308ar. these guys are telling you what works 100% of the time based on real world experience
  19. this is a race car. and things need adjusted precisely. the bolt carrier will survive, unlike the rim of your brass. it moves that fast. if you're like me and just have to have one, get one. be prepared to adjust things if anything at all changes. I use mine as a bench gun, shoot one load only.
  20. nice gun. have a stainless one. they are great
  21. my experience with jp parts is they are excellent parts. you can use them and have no issues, but you need to understand how your 308ar works before you set it up. put the lmos in your gun it will last many years, good stuff. the carrier (lmos) is if I recall 8oz lighter than std carrier, and it moves very fast in recoil because of that. so you set your gun up for 150gr ammo and it will give you no problem for many thousands of rounds. you're out hunting and run out of 150's and can buy some 175's, so you load them in your gun and shoot them. because the gas dwell time is longer with heavier bullets you have now overgassed your lightweight buffer system that you set for the 150's. my experience with this system is that before you shoot the 175's you will have to adjust the gas block to lower the pressure to the bolt.
  22. may want to think about this some more ^ if this is a shtf gun. I have one on 243win I built and it works great set up for one load. if you're going to shoot whats available (different bullet weights) you will have to reset gas.
  23. welcome from Oregon. Benton city has trap, skeet, cowboy action shooting, it also has a 1000yd range
