  1. my back yard range is 350 yds. poured a cement shooting bench in back yard. if I want to shoot farther I can go to farm and shoot a mile, mile and half.
  2. nice looks every bit factory
  3. this one does look normal. the other looks odd to me, very well just picture
  4. 2nd picture up, tube looks small and last inch looks like the normal size
  5. in my limited exposure to 308ar's I've not seen a gas tube quite like the one in his picture. it does come to the center of cutout, but the tube looks very small, with a large end. maybe the diameter of gas tube is to small and not moving enough gas through tube.
  6. plow said "a little deeper john deere"

  16. heck of a list. is the 405 in an old 95 lever action?
  17. I use them also. am trying a new Winchester ball powder that is extreme, called 6.5 Sta Ball. first extreme ball powder. I have my ladder loads ready to check in the 260 rem. next chance I get. its made in florida

  19. mine as stated is 24" I went with rifle length w/adjustable gas block. on the 243 as stated I went with h/p bolt. that said I just put together a 260 rem. and went with std 308 bolt. as far as twist, what are you going to do with it. a 243 in the lighter bullets is quite capable of over rotating them with std 1:10 twist, heavy bullets of coarse need more twist
  20. those bolts do have a smaller pin hole. the pin itself measures .062 and fits the hole very closely. you're correct
  21. the 1:10 twist is the standard for 243 win. it was designed to shoot up to 100gr bullets at hunting ranges. I don't have any experience shooting 100gr bullets out to 1000 or 1500 yards. I have shot 87gr bullets to 1000 yards and haven't had any problem.
