  1. Myself and one of our cats learned that lesson - I still say that cat tried to kill me.
  2. He’ll be back!
  3. Got it -thanks my friend.
  4. Got the rest of my pistol build parts coming my way except for the paint. Lower parts kit, carrier, sights, forward assist all shipped and in transit. Still have to mill the lower but the upper has the ejection port enlarged and ready for blasting and cerakote.
  5. I’ll be needing some soon - do tell
  6. Let me know when you get some 375 socom.... never mind
  7. They are sexy - that’s a fact. Isn’t parts sourcing an exercise in frustration?
  8. Hind-sight can be a bitch.
  9. I’ve got a colt a2 upper that would look good in wood but my colt lower is currently on something else so it wood be half a woody.
  10. You can jump on the 6ARC band wagon. Looks like a fun ride.
  11. Yeah I’m kinda predicktable
  12. Beaver has cost many a man his life - the red ones seem to be the worst.
  13. Nice! - I got a woody lookin at those
  14. Reminds me of rock-em sock-em robots.
  15. Not too sure yet. The load recommended from Tony Rumore at tromix is 10 grains of 700x behind the 325 grain maker bullet 35 k pressure should be about on par with 300 blk. Same press slightly larger bore equates to more gas for sure but not a large volume. I figure the dwell time will play the largest part in how much gas blasts out the back of the receiver. May need to play with some spring and buffer weights to get it right. I ordered a gas buster charging handle and will probably go with an vent in place of the forward assist just for a little extra assurance.
  16. Primary arms order for some parts for my socom build. Tailhook brace, spring and buffer, charging handle, hand guard. Still need forward assist, bolt carrier and a couple misc lower parts.
  17. I’m still trying to get used to the red dot. I intentionally left the iron sights off till I got the hang of it but to be honest I haven’t put in the time to get consistent. I have a renewed vow to do it so we will see how it goes. I don’t carry my red dot yet still with iron sights for now
  18. 2 things I miss about Michigan are the people(very friendly) and Lake Michigan. We had a 30 ft sailboat when we lived up there. I do not miss the cloudy days (360 days a year).
  19. I hadn’t thought about the heat issue. Both of those look good. What handguard are you rocking? how is the gas blast on those(dare I say facial?)? Face full of gas is my biggest concern with this build and looking cool 😎
  20. I’m sure you have seen it too but I have read (it may have been big bore), that the socom round can go to hi pressure with very little change like a light switch. no early or slow signs of over pressure. Also that you may be over the 35k mark with no signs. I think the 35 k is just for bolt concerns and some of the gas components not a cartridge or barrel concern. Be careful is all I’m saying. Several of those loads look like they are plenty accurate at 50 yards pick one and move out to 100 + and see if they still meet your needs for hunting accuracy.
  21. 10-4 I have read many of big bore’s posts. The guy is a wealth of knowledge. The 325 gr maker bullets seem like they are gtg for subsonic use. I’ll not be running a ton of rounds down range with this as it’s going to be a dedicated house gun that should be close to 357 mag energy. Did I need this? No but I wanted it so... we will see how it works out.
  22. It doesn’t get any featureless than black anodized aluminum
  23. I think I’m following what you meant. About as long a rail as possible with the suppressor end just clearing. That is where I was leaning and if I decide the can doesn’t work on this build I can get a shorter rail.
  24. Amen! 🍻
  25. Ok this thread is morphing. 375 socom with 10.5” barrel. It’s going to have my can dedicated to it (I think). How long should I go with a hand guard? Barrel length, barrel plus half of can or something in between? 10”,13” or 15”. Will probably want a red dot, light and maybe a laser mounted on it. Don’t want the kitchen sink. Thinking this will be my house gun. Let me know if you think I’m out to lunch. Decided tailhook brace but haven’t ordered it yet.
