Having just done 2 one 6061 and the other 7075 I can tell you the 7075 is much nicer to play with. Not as grabby on the cutting tools and less heat generated during the machining process. Don’t think it matters much for a lower as to what it’s made out of I mean there are some pretty nice poly lowers but don’t use em to but stroke somebody. I would love to get a hold of one of the old plum crazy poly lowers.

After reading about respray issues I decided to hit the back with sharpie since it is covered by the end anti rotation plate. The handguard turned out real nice and was the thing I was worried the most about due to all the empty space. Will get it assembled today and get a pic or two up when it’s done.

Yes it will be covered so I hit it with sharpie should do the trick.

Well I missed a spot and will have to respray the lower tomorrow. Back of lower where buffer tube screws on. It was at the bottom and I thought I got it but missed. Other than that it looks great

Squirted the upper, lower, and handguard green today it’s in the oven now. Looked good to me hanging on the hooks but after cure will be able to look closer. Only done cerakote once before - didn’t like how it turned out. Probably prep issue last time.

Just as I was turning out the lights I told my wife I ordered a couple gun parts. Next morning she hollers 500 dollars worth? I told her yes but it was only a couple of parts and besides this one won’t be as expensive as the last one.

I wonder if I can get something special if I tell her I have 4?
