  1. Sounds good, I hope its something simple and cheap, shame its not at 98's house, he would have you up and running in no time!
  2. I would have never guessed, spear fishing through the ice?? no 308 AR involved though?? LOL
  3. Any progress on your weapon sir?
  4. Awesome, Wilson Combat is expecting a large shipment of 5.56, 45 ACP, and 9 mm, so now is a great time to stock up..., I'm on board with Hornady all the way. The first handgun deer I ever took was with their 240 Grain XTP, amazing stuff, exit wound looked like a shotgun slug.
  5. I concur sir!, they just want to shoot, and they make you want to shoot...
  6. That Wilson Barrel is the bomb! Nice shooting...
  7. I will do that, and which BCG were you recommending? I'm looking for Nickle Boron with no FA cuts...
  8. Wow!, very nice, do you have picture of the rifle? I'm at about 750 bucks, without BCG, gas block, gas tube, and charging handle... I'm mulling building a top end to swap out on my current rifle, and the 6.5 does offer a lot of ammo choices... just in the thinking stage so far..
  9. Well I've been outbid on the Wilson Small Frame AR's, but the large frame WC-10 billet uppers and NOW available on Wilson Combat, prices have gone up, and Armor Tuff is extra..... so I'm considering a 6.5 Creedmore upper to go on my present Wilson lower,,, but they do NOT have the intermediate gas tube,,,, ggrrrrr, anyway, 98, they do have a 16" Paul Howe barrel in stock, but its not cheap... what is the difference in the Paul Howe barrel Bub?
  10. That looks great!
  11. That sounds like a plan!
  12. Oh my Lord, the though of you drinking "Dolphin Sparkles" is a little unsettling to old "billy magg", although to confess I've been a little disappointed with my beer sampling. On a really sad note, Baileys is up to $27.00, I do have a recipe for an Irish Cream that's actually pretty amazing on those cold winter nights. We may have to come up with an alternative to "Danger in the Desert" hosted by some of our own 308 AR alum in Arizona... those guys go for the "hard stuff", lol
  13. Yes parts are a problem, why if I do win it, it may be a 5.56, I'm not very patient...
  14. If I win that auction I will be building a small frame AR. I can find lots of 5.56 parts, but I'm tempted to build a 6.8 or even a 300 HAMR. although those will be pricey the large frame Wilson matched upper and lower is currently out of stock for at least the last six months+. So I'm considering an in betweener, as opposed to 5.56.in the meantime.

Yep, that Bear appears to be a mid-60's bow, they were pretty sweet for their day... like everything else, technology has tremendously benefited the bow building business!

Yep, those wooden arrows are an art unto themselves, that is some very neat vintage gear, which I love. But, I decided I wanted to join the 21st Century with this bow purchase, I've never owned a bow in the year of its introduction, and I'm glad I bought this Mathew's, it is very refined, fast and quiet, and a very smooth draw.... No doubt that little doe is mocking you, and I can tell by the look in her eyes she is a "string jumper"...
  17. A beautiful rifle, for sure its a budget build for an amazing rifle... but I'm currently been the high bidder for a small frame Wilson Billet set, so we will see what happens, also a really nice Smith and Wesson pre-27 with gold box and papers, and there's a gorgeous Combat Commander as well... lol... So I would much prefer to build/buy another large frame 308, so I'm looking at the 300 HAMR, or maybe a 6.8?? but, I don't reload, so those could be pricey in the long run... The corn is almost out, and my range is back opened up, so I fired a few rounds out of my Rock River, which was already pretty filthy, so I gave it a quick strip and clean this morning, its amazing what a month and a half will do to your shooting, but I'm trying to get this stoopid house painted before the snow flies.

I hear you, I fought mine and I couldn't get them off the hard cam, this Mathew's is fast, but I probably have it down around 52 lbs, its not bad when you shoot the first half-dozen, after that its work. This thing doesn't really have a "valley", you maintain quite a bit of weight. My Bowtech ended up with to short of a draw length, I'm shooting around 29 1/2"s with the Mathews, I'm getting a much more consistent anchor, I did have to replace the modules as I switched to a shorter release.

I can tell, that is a monster.. Yes I hated losing my brother, he was a big pork industry guru, he even had the Chinese hog farmers come over to see what he was doing, he worked his ass off, was very big in AI breeding. When my Dad was raising pigs, we were happy to survive 8-12 piglets, Jim had some litters with 30+ piglets, it was something to see. He was 15 months younger than me, so we went to duke city fairly frequently... He had a beautiful 21 ft Triton with a big 250 Evinrude, Triton's are squirelly things to drive, but Jim had it down to a fine art, his boat would top out at 82 mph. He loved Kentucky Lake and caught a bunch of Smallmouth there... his wife had to sell his boat, that was a heartbreaker for me...

No wonder you had shoulder issues, that is damn near hereford size, so where do you live, that looks like a corn, soybean, and alfalfa buck to me, good eating! These farm country dear taste wonderful, and if you get them hung, they can be tender too!
