  1. Sounds good, I'm holding that boy right now on my knee for our last morning coffee before he flies out, he's playing with my little Ducati model...
  2. My Daughter and Grandson are moving on base, at Davis-Mothan AFB. Her fiance is a young Air Force Sargent. I'm gonna depend on our Arizona crew to keep an eye on them, its gonna be tough on ole Billy, this will be our first time empty nesting, my boy is ten months old, lived with us since conception.. anyway, knowing my crew in Az will be there will help, thanks Billy!
  3. Any thoughts or experience with the POF "Revolution",? I'm not a fan of forward assist on the 308 platform... I'm still hoping to build a WC-10? Maybe in 6.5 Creed?, but who knows when Wilson will get their uppers and lowers in stock? I am loving my Wilson Tactical Hunter.... ?
  4. You are the man!
  5. Yep, I bought an 04 Gixxer 1000 when I turned 50, that damn thing would run, kept it about 3 years and started to have the feeling maybe I was pushing my luck?? I rode it all over kingdom come and got paid to do it! (I was a Hospice Chaplain), I put about 20,000 miles on it, rain or shine, and I really did miss it after I sold it. So I bought an 01 Gixxer 1000, (yes the blue and white ones are faster), which was a doll, and I loved that thing to death, I ended up lowering the back and putting a set of Heli Bar risers on it, somebody had already dropped the front,,, and yes I really miss that babe too! I've looked at a couple of XT500 Yammies, (I'm not sure I could start the damn thing anymore)..... a couple of Norton's, yes they are even more expensive than the XT's, and a couple of Honda CB 1100's from 1983,,, but I'm actually trying to buy another early 2nd Generation Z-28, talk about crazy money, but I can't help it.... I am a Suzuki man, I kept an 03 Hayabusa for a couple of months, that was a gorgeous bike!
  6. It's all gone! Probably into somebody's deep basement storage locker never to see the light of day, or the pitch black of midnight ever again!
  7. I hear you, I've been very impressed with Wilson's build, it does seem to be a cut above in functionality, I'd like to build a rifle, but the WC-10 matched uppers and lowers are still not in stock? When I had inquired this spring they told me the middle of July,,, so would it be safe to presume? (I know thats never safe) that Wilson is waiting on somebody else's billet stock or?? I know lots of parts are back-ordered, they don't have any 308 BCG's either at present....
  8. This is a beautiful practical set-up, I'd go for this in 6mm or 6.5 Creed, either way I would be a happy camper....
  9. Yes, I bought an 18" barrel but could easily live with a 16" inch barrel, and I do love the Recon Tactical profile. I've been very impressed with my rifles function on almost every level, and it does want to shoot, as opposed to trying to find something it likes, I think you will love the 7mm-08.
  10. Bring it on over to my house, I'll carry it and feed it for as long as you like!
  11. I absolutely agree!
  12. So Justin, I'm guessing since we haven't heard back? your gunsmith got your gun up and running like hot butter and molasses?? lol, how is it going Bub?
  13. Yeah! you earned your pay on this one Bro.
  14. good idea, and good choice, thats my other caliber choice, though I'm not seeing ammo on store shelve here.
  15. Exactly, and the Rock River does have a slik barrel and a fixed skeleton stock, which may help me hang onto it longer here in Central Obamastan. The SP-15 is around 900 bucks and there is an upgrade rifle in the 1500+ range, I don't know that the barrel/upper and lower are any different... After buying that Wilson, I'm honestly shooting and enjoying all my rifles more. Shooting 5.56 has helped me focus on my form, with out the added recoil of the .308. I've been pleasantly surprised with the Wilson, has a beautiful trigger along with all the other amenities, and doesn't weigh much more than my Rock River, with the 18" barrel and the collapsible stock, its very handy around the farm, that extra 3 inchs of Rock River makes it a lot less handy to throw in the old pick-up... The addition of a decent front bag, along with some of the other tips I've picked up along the 308AR Forum trail, have been a tremendous help with all my rifles, they all shoot better than I had realized, lol! So I'm just kicking around the idea of a Seekins, I really like billet, but I would prefer a Wilson billet, without FA, possibly even in 6.8 SPC?? but those are crazy money. So I enjoy shooting the 5.56, and I would probably carry that around the farm as opposed to the Wilson as it will do anything I need to do around the timber and pasture, I agree the Seekins just points nice, as opposed to the Rock River, almost as nice as a 22-250 Browning Safari with a pencil barrel that I owned for a very short while.
  16. absolutely, strange the positive influences in your life!
  17. Oh I bet, had a couple of fillet mignon that I whacked in half because the chicks like it a little more done, I ain't doing that again, tender, but I've always been a medium rare man, lol... just an barrel style grill that burns lots charcoal, I've got a new Weber kettle grill, but haven't broken it in yet?? I'd like to have a smoker, but I'm not that patient anymore, I'd hate to die waiting on something to come out of the smoker??
  18. Now I'm hungry!
  19. So what did Wilson Combat have to say, I'm loving the "Tactical Hunter" I eventually bought, its so stinkin light and handy for a .308
  20. I'm thinking about trading my Rock River 5.56 18" Predator Pursuit for a billet Seekins SP15? smaller and handier around the farm, and I like the billet? also has a 1" in 7" 5R rifled barrel. 5R
  21. Yep, I'm having a serious "Jones" for the "Alpine Veil", that stinkin thing is gorgeous, but then I bought Miss Wilson instead,,, a good choice, but....
  22. Yep, my little Grandson loves the 2017 Kitfox video routine, "Come Wit Me Now" by the Kongo's, he started watching it at about 4 months old, hell yeah, we crank it up, Kyle is the man, but what we really love is the 2013 video introduction of "Dracula 2013", "Monster by Skillet", watch him push the tail straight up in the air as he goes into his inverted flat spin!!!
  23. Yeah, they're brothers all right, LOL
  24. and your second point is my point exactly. If you were to take a look at all of Brandon Collier's, of Wilson Combat's groups, this spring and summer?? (they are posted on almost every ad for a Wilson Combat WS-10 rifle in 308 or 6.5 Creedmore that is posted on Gun Broker. Brandon's name is on almost every Wilson Combat's rifles 3 shot group as the shooter. Nine out of Ten have a 1st round flyer, and two snuggled together like amorous rabbits. That first round is manually cycled, likely by releasing the bolt, being held back by the bolt stop? the remaining two are cycled by the gas from the proceeding expended round, cycling the action. That is a huge difference, and I'm the noob here, but I've done a fair share of shooting, and a fair share of attempting to understand weapons, and the operating systems. I also recall several tests, where a pistol was snugged into a ranson rest, targets at 25 yards, and a 5 or so magazines were fired with no changes to the set-up, out of the same box of ammo.. they hand cycled the first round of each magazine creating a small group, away from the large group fired by the remaining automatically cycled rounds. I've got ONE heavy barreled rifle, all the remaining are light sporter profiles, since I carry my rifles more than I shoot them. Starting with a clean cold bore, and shooting 10-20 rounds, they will all walk as the bore heats and fouls, even that damn near new Wilson.. this is a very competent and opinionated group of operators here, confident as well, I'm certainly NOT saying that is the OP's problem, I don't know, and as mentioned above, breathing and where you park your eyeball behind those cross hairs will make a difference. Breathing is where I've had to make the most changes with my 308 AR, that and a much better front bag than I was using before... If you have a magazine fed weapon of any sort? the magazine is the second largest variable behind ammo, supposing that your shooting form remains consistent, on your weapon, this is purely subjective, but I've had the best luck with older Colt 20 rounders on the 5.56 AR platform, and as mentioned elsewhere, I had an ASC that consistently dinged bullets as they were chambered... I would add that you should consider where your ejected empty cases go, my 5.56 usually puts the first one around 2:OO o'clock, the remainder of a 5 round mag usually about 3:30 to 4:30?? your milage may vary?? So Chief, do you feel like you are any closer to what has changed to cause this sudden group divergence, I mean you've got lots of trigger time? you are leaning toward your scope aren't you??
  25. Yep, my AR came with a 10 round ASC magazine, my first outings with this mag were abysmal, at my first opportunity, I took it to our local Central Obamastan Rock River dude, we cycled several magazines through, and that magazine dinged every last round as it was chambering! threw that one out of the pile and things got all better
