  1. Yes it is, and I've been loving it, unfortunately I broke an extractor on little Miss Wilson,,, so it was right before a weekend I had lined up to give my trigger a test... it took a little while, but they replaced my whole BCG, and while this rifle doesn't eject them like I would like,, she chews on the brass, I was able to go my my Sprinco Orange and 5.3 oz KAK ejector.. So optically, I had the Strike Eagle off to repair my rifle and slipped my old Redfield Battlezone back on to test my new BCG.. I realized how stinkin heavy that Strike Eagle and Giselle 34 MM mount were.. so that extra 3 lbs on my rifle really made it a lot less handy around the farm. So Strike Eagle, really decent Chinese Glass, really heavy, but very robust, honestly though my Redfield is much brighter and crisper,, I love the Razor II, its amazing glass, but also very heavy.. so I really like the SR-25 Giselle mount,, so I'm looking for a nice 34 MM tactical scope that is not Chinese, and not quite so heavy?
  2. OK, ArmaLite actually has 46 AR-10A lowers on the website this morning, so yes they do indeed now sell lowers, my bad... So Diamondback is really gonna confuse people now, and they are not the only ones messing around with their specs
  3. Diamondback uppers produced prior to 1/1/2021 were produced with a 16 LPI DPMS pattern barrel nut, Diamondbacks produced after that date use an 18 LPI barrel nut... these later uppers might be compatible with the AR-10 lower? (more research is def warranted)... why did Diamondback do this? why to further screw up the AR-308/AR-10 rifle builders... in addition ArmaLite does NOT sell a separate AR-10 lower... they do note that Eagle Arms will sell you a lower?? confused yet??? billy
  4. I'm gonna try it with that full mass BCG,, but that damn chrome looking Bolt Carrier with that kool little tail is just sexy,, I'm sorry, I like the way that looks.. but,,, I will throw that ugly phosphate job in there,, and I will put the new bolt in that low mass carrier,, we gonna see what works and what don't??? I have an invitation to try it out and make it work,, or send "Little Miss Wilson" home to Momma for some love?? you can't beat that.. I'm just happy to have that full mass BCG coming, really... and I'm learning that extractors are wear parts... I didn't think them damn things were cast, I assumed it was forged,,, but I don't think it is,, I've been trying to figure out how to post pictures, I'm just spoiled from having the twins around to do that for me all these years, but now they are all married off, and have husbands and babies.... I am missing my big rifle, I have a "Vortex Strike Eagle", Geiselle 34 mm cantilever mount, and went bust putting a Geiselle SSA-E in that chick.. the Geiselle feels awesome, but I was putting my groups to the right before that extractor let go.... huuummmm?? I'm surprised how nice that Chinese scope is?? it aint bad for 600 bucks..
  5. Yeah, you keep puking Mad Dog up before the effects can hit you,,, I haven't drunk that stuff since I was on a date with a "bonus chick" and went to see the movie Carrie,, I didn't sleep for weeks,, I don't watch dat chit!!!
  6. yeah, you shouldn't be,, I did indeed and do drive the short bus! when surveyors from Central Obamastan where around, I did indeed use the art of blending,,, kinda like special forces in special olympics,,, yeah, I usually fit in wherever,,, but if you get invited to that fall shoot in the desert?? you prolly ought to take out some extra life insurance and wear your chastity belt... jus sayin!! On a high note, I'm building another .223 Wylde rifle, upper and lower receivers headed to my FFL, and the rest of a crap ton of junk on its way here,,, I'm prolly more excited for my new BCG coming to hopefully get "Little Miss Wilson" back up to speed,,, I've really shot that chick a LOT,, as evidenced by all the empties in the basement,,, I'm getting ready to pull my wall down and get some lumber in there to hold up my reloading bench that Swiftab shared with me.. I just can't get my son to bring back my Rock Chucker?? lol damn kids!
  7. There we go,, glad we got that figured out, Kent from Wilson Combat has a new phosphate 308 BCG in the mail for me, has invited me to mix and match, keep what works and send the rest back. If that doesn't solve my lazy ejection I can call him and send the whole shooting match in.. he did mention that they are trying to get away from the low mass BCG's, they do have more issues..
  8. there you go, I got my shovel I'll get you some fresh from Central Obamastan! we got lots of dat!
  9. Just to update on my broken extractor, Kent at Wilson Combat is going to send me a complete bolt for my rifle, he did not have a new low mass BCG, and did state that they were trying to "get away from them", echoing 98's word of wisdom, anyway, he is sending me a phosphate bolt and told me to feel free to mix or match with my NIB bolt as desired,,
  10. and thank you unforgiven,, you really don't get enough credit here sir,, you guys are all great,, you've kept me sane with my .308 AR madness!!
  11. Yep, I had a KAK industries ejector and spring in there with NO improvement.. finally put the Wilson Combat stock parts back in? no better, no worse, so yeah, I'm pissed, and the TR-BUK-10 AR-10 (yes, dammit, I know its NOT an AR-10, tell Wilson Combat) did NOT have the promised ejector spring, and the extractor spring included will NOT twist down into the spring recess on the current extractor and lock in.. I destroyed completely the factory extractor spring getting it out of there gently, and then NOT gently attempting to turn it counter-clock wise to take it out... can you say "CHIT" boys and girls??? I stuck it all back together so I could reassemble my rifle, hopefully Wilson Combat will send me an extractor or two for a .308 AR?? we'll see??? I have a small frame billet receiver set on the way as we speak... CHIT! CHIT! CHIT!! see what happens to your supporters when they get a hang nail?? CHIT!
  12. Ok, here we are on Thanksgiving Day,, boring, wifey has the "Wuhan Flu", so no kids or grandkids,, dang its quiet.. I posted under general discussion, but thought I would update this post.. So lazy, lethargic ejection since day 1, new Wilson Combat .308 Tactical Hunter,, shooting 147gr Winchester white box, and a failure to eject with a round fed off the top of the magazine tying up the gun.. easily cleared and went to install a Wilson Combat TR-BUK-10 AR-10 Bolt Upgrade kit,, as I was cleaning and inspecting, I found 1/2 of the claw extractor sheared off, and the rest very nasty and sharp... so emailing Wilson Combat, and calling them tommorow,, they may be closed for Thanksgiving.. as a shameless Wilson Combat acolyte,, dammit all to hell! and no, I'm not worth a damn posting pictures either,, and my daughters can't come help the old bastard...
  13. Well, I've finally figured out my poor ejection on my Wilson Combat 308 Tactical Hunter,, I have a broken extractor?? one half of the extractor claw is sheared off! this is one of those funky light weight BCG's on their web sight, last night after 6 rounds of 147gr Winchester, I had a failure to eject with a double feed.. damn!
  14. I totally relate my friend, hope you can find someone whom can lower your anxiety level,, like Jose Cuervo!!! he's good to get you chill!
  15. Yep, you can adjust the diopter on your scope and your binoculars, on the binoculars the diopter adjustment in on the right eye.. so you focus the binoculars until your left eye see's a very sharp image, and then adjust the diopter to your right eye,, should be in focus for both eyes then..
  16. I've had my new Vortex Strike Eagle now for a bit,,, first one had to go back as I all of a sudden started throwing flyers that landed about 3" up and 2" or so left.. so back to Scheels for a direct exchange... made me start thinking about a Vortex Razor?? LOL Anyway, I just installed a Giselle SSA-E yesterday and can't wait to get out and give "Little Miss Wilson" some exercise,, but she's gained a pound or two with the scope and mount,, but that trigger feels amazing,,
  17. Yes He is, and these guys are looking out for you too! So is she doing better these days Steve??
  18. I did shoot another 5/8" in group with the strike eagle, before it got all loose and started doing its own thing. Scheel's exchanged it for another, which is a newer batch, doesn't have the nice solid clicks of the first one! But it's holding Zero so far, best group today with Sig 168 bthp
  19. Yes sir! I've forgotten half what I know? and the other half is probably wrong,,, but at least I've got some time to get back to the 307 AR forum,, maybe I can soak up some more accurate figures... 9 11/16" whats the 307 forum?? oh well, I can't keyboard either,, thank you to the 308 forum mods and 98Z5V.. and all you other bright lads, probably time to put this thread to bed.
  20. sorry, internal depth
  21. Here again JT you are absolutely right,, for example, Wilson Combat is a DPMS pattern rifle with the "ArmaLite" cut ,, so no, if you are not running the same brand of upper and lower, do NOT assume that an upper and lower are compatible, they most likely are not, so run the same brand upper and lower if you are not sure.. I've seen some cobbled together rifles that clearly are not compatible and yet people wonder why they do not run.. its been a while, so don't hold me to it, but Stag 10 is another receiver that is a DPMS rifle with the "ArmaLite" cut on the rear receiver halves,, and if I'm not mistaken?? they have proprietary pivot pins?? I've given up on building an ArmaLite rifle due to my own ignorance and parts availability..
  22. Okay, I see that the receiver extension comes in the kit, and it should measure 9.625 inches internal diameter.. absolutely a no brainer, even I can figure that one out...
  23. The receiver extension is supposed to come with the kit Doc, but I did find one review, where the purchaser stated that it came with an AR-15 Buffer and Spring instead of the AR-308 Rifle Buffer and Spring..
  24. So did you change the buffer and spring?? and if so, what did you replace it with?? so your gas tube is coming all the way back to the middle of the cam pin cutout in the upper receiver??? pictures of all that please if possible.. if you were 10 out of 10 for not feeding, it sounds like you were short stroking,, a buffer that was too long being out of spec would cause that.. 98Z gave you some great advice, did you measure the gas port bore?? report that bore diameter back please.. One Armed Eye Doc asked you about the length and source of rear receiver extension, should be 9.625 inches These guys KNOW, they are NOT guessing or taking a stab in the dark,, if you follow their very specific advice and give them GOOD information, they will get your rifle running reliably... or you've got it all figured out?? and we will never hear from you again?? not likely, but even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while...
