  1. Hey someone send 98Z5V a .338 lapua cartridge so we can see what he does with it. <lmao> <munch>
  2. Mobil 1 is one of the most recommended lubes in these weapons
  3. Thanks for joining. Not sure about the Bushmaster ORC. BM sold their .308 design to Rock river Arms a while back and now they are once again in the game with this ORC. Does anyone know what the pattern its based on? What magazines? Is it a re-badged DPMS?
  4. Well thats gotta make you feel good. Nice shooting!
  5. Thats great <thumbsup>
  6. BTW it would be great to see some images of this weapon. Havent seen much on them and I love the idea with the mags.
  7. The lack of forward assist should have no effect on function. So what exactly is the issue? The rounds dont chamber completely? Not riding the charging handle is more critical on these guns then an AR-15. Lastly you say you did not have the upper milled. I believe that mod is for magazine to fit correctly. Perhaps even though they are fitting it's not the correct fit. Just a few side comments. These .308 like to run with a lot of lube when new, dripping until they settle in. Has the headspace been checked? Ive attached a pdf of the upper mod for those who havent seen it. Definitely try different ammo Thanks for signing up!! 533_.pdf
  8. excellent acquisition Bill
  9. here it is "loadbooks" They have them at Cabelas I see there even reloading DVD's and such available now. Look at the "Related Items" on the Cabela's page
  10. The Lyman book is very illustrated and the Hornady a little drier and technical
  11. The other book(s) I referred to were from Hornady. For load data alone there is a company that pulls the info from the bullet and powder manufacturers and puts them in a form that covers individual calibers. I recall they were pretty cheap. Too bad I jusy ebayed all this stuff a while back. :(
  12. I always recommend the Lyman Reloading Handbook as a first read. Amazon.com has the most recent edition here

  18. Projects are like sneaking new guns in the backdoor. The little woman would freak If I bought 3 AR's in a year but building three from lowers doesnt seem to phase her. <laughs> For the longest time I was only buying blue guitars so she couldnt tell when I bought a new one.
  19. Heres what Im thinking. I want one as a long term website project. Accuracy being the goal.
  20. So is there any particular model of 10/22 that makes a good base for a project? I notice theres a lot of models
  21. a while back on another forum there was a letter posted that was sent to law enforcement agencies from a top cop explaining that those things were legal. I cant remember where I saw it as I found it while looking fore something else.
