  1. I have a brand spanking new A3 upper receiver that I'm not going to be using if you're interested. It's the new height, and easy to find matching FFHGs.
  2. Let it out brother, it makes my day to hear someone talk sense, especially in the current political climate.
  3. I purchased it late in February, my check cashed in March, approval went through on April 5th, and I got my tax stamp November 8th. A little beyond 8 months total.
  4. If enough interest doesn't get shown here, PM me the cost of a one-off, but I'm sure there's plenty here in the community that could make good use of one.
  5. You got that right, I'm already dreaming about working up a subsonic load that will still cycle the rifle. I'm about to go full-blown ape feces insane giddy little girl scout high order madness over this crap!
  6. It is my understanding that the hammer spring on the .308 model is stronger, and the hammer is slightly wider from what I'm told. I can't verify that, but take it for what it's worth. Myself, I'd prefer the 308 specific model even if I didn't know any different.
  7. Well, since I know Tom will try to sell you the Gieselle, I'm going to try to preempt him and sell you the ATC/PACT SR Gold. I'm pretty sure Tom does have both though, so you could ask him how they compare.
  8. The first 3 of 5 digits are 562--, which is to say that my receiver is fairly well into the older style. My bolt carriers are: DPMS Standard Young Mfg. SS chromed SI Defense NiB coated 416 SS
  9. UPDATE!!! I got a call from my NFA dealer today, letting me know that my Tax Stamp arrived yesterday. My suppressor is now OFFICIALLY mine, and I can't wait to get that sucker mounted up and putting rounds downrange. I'm so excited I can't stand it. I've spent the whole day giggling maniacally... <laughs> I have determined that there will not only be pics, but video posted when I get this baby put on. Keep your eyes peeled! ;D
  10. That is an awesome little tool, it's so simple it's brilliant! I want one myself!
  11. I simply called Troy and gave them the information that DPMS had given me based on my serial number. I gave them the description that DPMS had given me, and they sent me the correct rail height in exchange for the one I'd bought. Did I mention that I didn't have a receipt for my FFHG, and it was FDE instead of black? Not only did they exchange my item for the one of the right height, but they gave it to me in my preferred color as well. That is unbeatable service, and is why I will buy from Troy every chance I get.
  12. Troy has FFHGsr for both heights, DPMS fed you a line of BS. As long as you know which one you have, Troy will send you the correct one.
  13. I feel like I've most of the people on this forum for a lifetime. Definitely many like-minded people in this forum, I'll be around till' they drag me out kicking & screaming and trying to bribe my way back in. <thumbsup>
  14. If you're speaking figuratively about our country, I agree. As individuals capable of seeing through the smoke & mirrors, I think we are definitely NOT screwed. There is quite a difficult road ahead of us, no question about that, but the time has come when the weak will fall prey to fate, and the strong will be all the stronger for it.
  15. Read my lips... TARGET PICTURES! <laughs> <lmao> <munch> :P That picture of your scope is nice, don't get me wrong, but if you mention your inbound optic in excess of 3 times, you are obliged to post target pics when said optic has been sighted in... I hope this is in no way an inconvenience... ;D
  16. I'm in complete agreement, there's no shortage of labels at all. What bothers me is how many people get bogged down in the arguing and the labels, and don't ever make it to the point where they are ready to stand with their brothers for something they believe in, right or wrong. If there's going to be a "reset" in this country, it'll take more than a bunch of pointed fingers.
  17. We've currently got a staff of ~6-7 people handling a 1k+ membership. I think we'll be alright as we expand, but you can believe that as panic over the O's reelection spreads, 308 AR ownership will rise and our membership will grow. Have some faith in Drew, he knows how to pick Moderators. <thumbsup>
  18. Really, everything is divided. There are even divisions amongst people of the same political parties. It doesn't matter who you lump under what label, there will always be differences of opinion, some of them irreconcilable. That's what the point of the original post was, I'm glad that this is a group of people mature enough to keep our differences of opinion from dividing us. Heck, we're even civil and respectful here, that in itself is almost unheard of these days.
  19. I would think probably not. If you were getting into Troy's two-piece FFHG options, you might find one that could extend beyond your gas block, but personally I can't understand why anyone would want to make their gas block impossible to access quickly. Maybe that's what you're trying to avoid, I can't really tell from the way the question was asked. If that's the case, disregard my statement. <thumbsup>
  20. If only she were to be assassinated with ordinary silverware, the irony and incidence would be just poetic.
  21. Not to be argumentive, but the media is useless if there's not a culture in place that buys into it... ;)
  22. I'm a member in several shooting based forums, and they are currently rife with political discussions that are nothing more than a bunch of pseudo-grown-up idiots playing the finger pointing game. I just wanted to point out that I deeply respect the unity and the mutual respect shown in this community. It has made it possible for me to make it through this ridiculous election without losing faith in my brothers in arms. Thanks for proving that there is a place on the web where people have sense enough to ignore minor differences of opinion, and band together for a purpose bigger than ourselves. There will be no more wet duck talk on my part, I just had to get it outta my system. As you were! 8)
  23. Hey brother, we live for this stuff. I'm thrilled that there's a community here to help inform decisions about something I wouldn't have learned much about otherwise.
  24. Lothar Walther is STILL holding out on my prototype barrel, which is coming up on 2 years of being in the works. I have been offered my money back 3 times now, and I refuse to get anything less out of my deal than the barrel I ordered. It will happen, and if it proves to be as good as I'm thinking it will be, it will become a standard profile for LW and I will be building rifles with them.
  25. Right on brother. Trust me, by the time you're done modifying it, you will probably know just as much if not more than anyone you'd trust to do it for you anyways. The key is to not be afraid to ask. There are quite a few knowledgeable people here (and an AR guru no less), and I wouldn't hesitate to undertake ANY project on my ARs with their help.
