  1. Awesome videos, thanks for sharing!
  2. Best gun pic posted in the last 6 months! I haven't laughed this hard in so long, I can't even remember the last time I laughed so hard.... Yeesh! <laughs> <lmao> Thanks blue, I needed that! <thumbsup>
  3. Keep the info coming gentlemen! The Mauser action is in the mail! I'm gonna take my time and do it right, but I'm so stinkin' excited it's ridiculous. Also, I will be needing a name for this gun, so lay 'em on me.
  4. That's funny you mention that heminut, I've had the ineffective fire nightmare several times, and my dad has described having the slow bullet nightmare.
  5. Yep. One is a good sign that you're going to need at least a 25-gun safe here in the very near future. Better set aside some "vault cash".
  6. Welcome to the forums Chris!
  7. Gold Medal Match is indeed the gold standard. When I first started shooting, I was getting errant results as to whom/what was responsible for my inconsistent shot placement. I quit buying cheapo ammo @ Walmart and started buying FGMM, and I eliminated the ammo entirely from the equation. Now I'm shooting much better, and starting to experiment with different match ammunition from various manufacturers.
  8. I know where you're coming from, for certain. I'm getting into reloading as a result of the cost of commercial ammo, and the need to fine tune my ammo for the best accuracy.
  9. Charitable donations are a sort of rarity here... Somebody out of the kindness of their heart will send Tom a gas tube roll pin occasionally... <laughs> However, malicious enabling of uncontrollable spending, is highly common. It's a way of life here, you'll get used to it... <thumbsup>
  10. I meant to reply to this sooner, but somebody drooled all in my keyboard and I had to clean it up first. <laughs> Very nice rifle brother, well done! <thumbsup>
  11. Based on your description so far, you seem headed in the right direction. Check out the JP Rifles LMOS carrier and captured buffer spring when you get the chance. That could possibly save you some weight as well.
  12. That depends on what you want to accomplish. What is the intended purpose of this rifle? Welcome to the forums by the way.. <thumbsup>
  13. Their adjustable gas block for large frame ARs has a great reputation, it's a must have if you run a suppressor. It's a switchblock-style gas block that looks a little bulky, but it does the job.
  14. I'm dying to shoot it brother, next week can't arrive soon enough!
  15. Reviewed. Thanks again Roger, this is top notch gear!
  16. I'm afraid you've walked into a giant nest of large-frame AR enthusiasts with your question, and by far the majority of experience here has been to the contrary of what you're describing. It would be a little easier to address your issues though if they were described in a little more detail. Having said that, welcome to our forums, I think your time spent here will be very enjoyable. There's a wealth of information here on the forums, and a helpful, practical attitude is prevalent throughout. Enjoy!
  17. Get the DPMS receiver claw right off the bat, upper and lower. When you work on stuff, have it fixed securely, makes your job 10x easier. Roll pin punches are useful, get yourself a nice set of allen wrenches in a folding style tool. After that, go with whatever tools might be specific to your rifle.
  18. I have a BAD lever on it's way. Thanks again roger, you guys are awesome!!!
  19. First off, welcome to the forums. The answer to both questions is a resounding yes. I think you'll have no problem finding fine optics in the $500 range. Just prepare for the flood of possibilities that's about to overwhelm you.... <thumbsup>
  20. I'll take a rain check, much appreciated thought.
  21. Sounds awesome, what time do I need to be there?
  22. Amen to this... A trust is ideal for a whole host of reasons... (Haha, I said "host"..) No fingerprints, no sign-off, no background check (by local LEAs anyways), and some more that I'm definitely forgetting. The extra expense of having an NFA trust specially made will pay off with every successive NFA purchase you ever make, and it's just a good life decision as well to have a will and trust written up. In brief, go the trust route, you'll thank yourself later.
  23. Well, I can answer the first question.... ~7 months from the Form 4 mailing to the suppressor being in hand.
  24. That sounds pretty awesome. Have done this with chickens on camp outs, but didn't know it worked for something as big as a turkey too. Do you put a rub on 'em or anything?
